Lock it to Wrath content and I'd play it. To hell with everything Cataclysm added.

I, on the other hand, prefer a command-line system 'cause i'm so hardcore
/north /north *You encounter an [Avatar of the god Set]!*
/cast sheild *sheild spell unavailable*
/csat shield *csat: unknown command*
*[Avatar of Set] beheads [Peasant]*

hell ya!

I would love a "staged" server. ie from vanilla to live but at a fixed pace. Every 6 months(for example) the next "expansion" as it were.

That being said, I am un-subbed, so it is an academic question

This is already done in the "underground": one vanilla server, one BC server and one WOTLK server. You just have to download the exact client and version to connect to said server. The problem with these servers is that they are very buggy and half the quests/talents don't work.

I can see Blizzard re-purposing realm hardware as the game winds down for a project like this. That being said: I would probably re-signup for a Blizzard created BC/WOTLK only realm.

More likely I'd join.

I'm not surprised that this question was posted. Daoc did something similar (with some exceptions).

40-man raids? Ugh no thanks. 25-mans are already 24 too many at times.

Currently in the MMO unemployment line.
