DAMMIT the DK starting gear always looked the best IMO and i vendored it after going through BC

Yeah, I bet a lot of people did. But you can always go back and farm TOC 5 man and get the full set that exactly matches what the Ebon Blade quartermaster is wearing. I've always thought it was the epitome of what the DK should look like:

Interesting fact that Deathwing Raid will be part of this patch, and the fact that it might sound like they have to scrap another Raid. I wonder if the scrapping of the Raid has nothing to do with how it worked, but just much more to do with the fact that they want to now move past Cata as fast as possible and get onto the next Expansion, and hence just didn't have time to really fit the other raid into the game, even if it was not quite what they wanted.

i don't really like the gear appearance customization since i think its a fun part of the strategic pvp to adjust my tactics based on telling whether a person has offensive or defensive gear equipped. call me old fashioned but i think its fun if you have to factor in how gear looks in addition to stats when choosing what to wear...i don't really like too much cookie cutter.


but that aside, it sucks that i have already destroyed or sold a lot of awesome looking gear that i have outleveled to make bank space....stuff that even though its from the older expansions i am unable to acquire again while solo. if they put this change in and i am unable to acquire any of the cool looking gear that i used to own again easily, it is the kind of thing that might make me not want to play

About damn time Blizzard, welcome to what other devs figured out a few years ago!

Anyway, this makes me have to consider playing my Pally again as I always was a big fan of the Judgement set

Edit: I have a feeling they will "grandfather" armor sets you can no longer obtain (Starter DK gear for example) or are from older expacs/content while applying the "must already own it" condition to sets from current and last expac. Something along those lines makes sense.

I just deleted ALL of my old armor sets dating back to BC about 3 weeks ago.

All they need to do to "catch" up to Rift, is to have all the old armor sets available for hundreds of thousands of gold. Then add the classic Blizz-twist of demanding 6-months worth of faction farming.


And knowing Blizzard, they will microtransaction some of the starter sets as well as the vanilla ones. Especially raid sets.


PS: glad they've finally added this. Not enough to affect our resubbing though.
