I would add NT 3.51. Not sexy by any means, but a workhorse OS. (Or : NT4, but that was really just 3.51 with the Win95 eye candy).

[edit] Exception: old-ass hardware that was already slow on XP.

Yeah XP was throttling my PC heavily, didn't realize it until switching over.

I imagine on old hardware there would be minimal difference in performance.

I still have one machine with xp...and my newer one runs 7 Pro..

Had to upgrade to pro, naturally, because all of my software is XP..

Yeah, its definitely time for me to build a new machine with 7 pro. I just haven't found a game yet that I want to play that requires me to update so I've been putting it off. My current graphics card/processor runs WoW at max settings and that is the last PC game I played.

I tried Skyrim on PS3 and it bored me to tears so no reason to upgrade PC to play on that.

SWTOR not looking very promising either.

Damn the gaming industry needs to come up with something that does not suck for change.
