Win2K / Windows XP / Windows 7 were the absolute best OS's ever to come out of Redmond.

And Windows 7 blows the doors off XP and then some.
All preview information hints that Windows 8 is even better (yes, you can turn off the Metro Display).

I survived to the end and got nothing out of it, but hey.

One thing I hate about Window 7 and haven't been able to figure out how to change is when I have multiple documents open, they stack on top of each each on the task bar instead of spreading out on the task bar like they did in Vista.If that makes any sense.

Mouseover it, and they will split apart.

Right-click the taskbar -> Properties.
Taskbar tab -> Taskbar buttons -> Select "Never combine."

WoW is compatible with Windows 2000, Blizzard is just ending support for the OS. So, if you have a problem installing or running the game on Win 2k, Blizz won't be able to help you solve your problem anymore. My guess is that it should run fine on the OS for the foreseeable future though.
