I'm against the death penalty because it makes the US look like backwards barbarians compared to the rest of the civilized world and because innocent men and women are put to death.
Abolish the death penalty now

I would never support the death penalty. I don't want the government killing in my name.
And before anyone says what if it was your family member. I would seek vengeance and deal with the consequences of my actions. I have no problem killing someone I feel needs it. I don't want the government doing it in my name.

Death penalty for all repeat offenders, in any serious crime.
You get one extra chance to appease the crybaby liberals and then once you have proven that you can not function in society you are done.
Though I would prefer forced labor to death penalty but people would cry too much.

This story hits close to home for me, literally. Ft. Wayne is less than an hour from where I live and I go there a few times a month. It's not the kind of place where things of this nature happen much in a lifetime.
I read the story and actually shed a tear or two while reading it. I have a 9 year old daughter of my own and I can't begin to imagine anyone being able to do something like that and it pains me to think of what that little girl went through. It actually infuriates me and makes me wonder where we are as a species and if maybe we don't deserve to be wiped out sometimes. These kinds of stories can stress any man's faith at times.
Still, I have never been for the death penalty. It's the height of hypocrisy imo. Would I kill the guy myself if allowed to do so? Without a doubt. I just don't think the courts should have that power.

Nitpick: The government doesn't kill in our name.
It kills at our request.
The 12 citizens of the jury decide whether that happens or not. I'm not talking about the verdict of guilty, but the entirely separate sentencing phase where the jury decides whether the death sentence is appropriate or not.
