The vast majority of US citizens, over the entire span of the countries existence, have never had any freedom or liberty....so "retaking them" is impossible.
The government, whether local, state, or federal, has always done just about whatever the hell they want to anyone they feel like doing it to.
What most people in the USA think of as "freedom" is actually the ability to deny freedom to other people and not get called an asshole by just about everyone for doing so.

Not to play the Ron Paul card again, but why is imposing the will of our politicians on Iran more important than your personal freedoms here at home for so many of you? More important than our out of control government spending and crashing economy? Ron Paul wants to fix our country first and his first priority is the American people and many of you act like he's nuts for it.
