Some people want to die - thats natural. Life is the longest thing we do and none of us know what comes afterward.

It's not like you're going to regret killing yourself.
Well, I wanted to die back in high school, but I'm quite glad I didn't. I don't know that I would've regretted, but I would've missed out on really living.
Nobody can really tell you why people should want to live though, because those reasons would be as varied as the bodies that contain them.

I think every single person feels they want to die at some point. Do we all vocalize it? No. Is it a serious feeling? No.
Its a natural feeling though - the greatest escape possible.
In other words, its not a mental illness. Youd be mentally ill if that feeling never popped up in your mind in your entire life.
We go through a range of emotions - this is one of them.

Well, I believe it's a human generality to enjoy life. A simple life isn't necessarily unhappy. And just because one aspect causes unhappiness, doesn't mean there aren't several other avenues that a person is quite pleased with.
I think only short stints in most people's lives are unhappy. Certainly there are outliers, as in everything, but I don't think those should be the focus of a discussion like this.
The only context I have for this belief though is the people I have met and witnessed in my life, in various settings, from farms to the military.

Meaning-understanding, not necessarily happiness is the mode of being I cultivate. It is called Realizing. However any predicate you adopt unconditionally will reify or harden-change into something else. Therefore, I will qualify almost all statements surrounding Truth, with "but that is not it."

If you want to die and then something in your life changes and you don't want to die anymore then you didn't really want to die in the first place. You wanted your life to change.
