ESPN definitely has multiple breaks.

Oh wait, it wasn't ESPN that showed the CL final. It was Fox Sports. I just remember having to go watch it on a general channel because they made some deal to try to get more people to watch it.

I guess I haven't actually watched an ESPN soccer broadcast. I use espn3 all the time but that is streaming and doesn't have any ads period.

The game does stop lol. It's not like the guys with the stretchers are dodging other players kicking the ball and running past them like some old Laurel and Hardy silent film.

The game doesn't stop. The clock keeps ticking. As long as the clock is going the game is going. The ball is not in play but the players are free to move around the pitch. They don't have to go back to their old positions when the ball is put back in play.

Incidentally, an injury doesn't automatically stop play either. Unless the refree stops play or a player puts the ball out of play the game continues even if there is an injury. The medics can't come on until play stops.

LOL that's a hell of a lot of explanation to try to make a pretty lame semantic argument.

You may consider it a lame semantic argument but soccer fans don't. There would be riots in the streets of Manchester if Sky had tried to put in commercial breaks during the FA cup tie yesterday.

Dude, Euros rioting in the streets about soccer isn't the point of emphasis you seem to think it is

Incidentally that is probably part of the reason why soccer games arn't broadcast for free in Europe. The fans pay to not have the game broken up.
