Actually this makes a lot of sense. I think it's genuinely a good idea to have a vocational program where the students can take care of the school, they get paid a little cash. I wouldn't have them work in the cafeteria though.
Taking care of the grounds and janitorial duties isn't demeaning. I would have done this instead of working at grocery store in high school.

Yeah. it's funny because I agree with Newt's general posit. And that is that we need to provide more opportunity at the bottom to work and to better oneself. But I completely agree with you that we also need to provide jobs good enough for them to support themselves and their family on. He made it seem like we just need to get the serfs back in the fields. Maybe that's how he really feels, maybe not, but it's definitely how he came across.

Gingrich is scum and will have no support here in CO. I am friends with the republican leadership and none of them will support him. And Gingrich isn't even on the ballot in VA. He is second rate and his supporters are second rate that need some more education on economics, liberty and the constitution.

Poor peoples kids do shit work for pennies an hour while rich peoples kids study. Sounds like a "conservative" dream come true.
Nothing wrong with making money, but I think concentrating on an education while you are a child would be a much more productive thing....unless of course you think learning to clean toilets is going to be of more use to that poor kid than an education would be.
Jebus.....you don't even have to try to make "conservatives" look like evil, stupid, bastards....they are proud of doing so and cheer themselves on.
