It's a team sport and he crapped on his teammates by making a political statement out of a frigging handshake.
If he is really disturbed by the way the President is doing his job....he should have gone and told him to his face and supported his team and his sport in the process.
Of course he has the right to do whatever the hell he wants, but it was a crappy move on his part. Thomas has always been a self centered prick....but he is a hell of a goalie.

Once he made the decision, he was in a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' kind of situation.
Tbh, being thought a racist is probably better for him in Boston then being a conservative

The President, like every other elected official is an employee of the people. They should be approaching us with their hats in their hands asking us what we would like them to do. Instead, they've been elevated to deity status and haven't hesitated to abuse their power for generations now.
I respect this guy's decision.

To be honest, the Boston folks who are hockey fans are typically blue-collar sorts, who, while they vote democrat, do so because of supposed long term "friend of labor" and union backing by that party, rather than for other traditionally "liberal" reasons. Also, Boston is a city. Big cities almost all vote democrat - demographically the reasons for this are clear and should not surprise anyone.
