A pointless gesture.

I'd respect him more if he said he wasn't going because he didn't like Obama. At least then it would make sense.

I wouldn't have gone if invited when Bush was president. I despise the man's attitude and policies and what he did to this country.

"Government's too big so I'm not going."

Good job. You missed out on meeting a president, and your little protest will mean less than nothing in changing anything.

im surprised you cant see how stupid or wrong you are. hes had more media coverage and everyday people talking about his not going. then if he had gone and smiled for the camera.

furthermore this is not a dem vs. rep issue. he has stated as much. so even if bush was there he would still be sitting at home

Meh - if you don't want to go, don't go.

Pretty simple.

My great-grandmother was invited to meet Roosevelt during WWII with some other Mothers of the Year at the time. I read her diary about it, all of the ladies that went down were more interested in seeing the White House kitchens than the President!

I'd probably do something like that. Take the free trip to Washington, then just go site seeing.

I bet the first Yeti took one heck of an ass whipping when Barack finally unleashed his anger over this one!

I bet he went out and shot his dog. I learned from the Outpost that is how real men deal with stress.

The White House is a very interesting place, he should have gone just to see it, there are lots of great people who work and that are stationed there.

I'd love to go to the White House and meet the President. Regardless of who it was. It's the guy's choice not to go not sure why it's been made into such a big deal. I never give a flying crap when celebs/athletes start talking politics. STFU and just do what you're paid to do
