I've read this before but this article really spells it out in a way we can understand and points out how obvious this truth really is.
Think twice before putting that crap into your body, depression can usually be treated in other ways and is usually an indication of some underlying issue like nutritional deficiencies.. but people and doctors want some magic pill to cure all when in fact this pill is as good as a placebo in clinical trials. The Pharma industry does not want you to realize this.

This is why I left the field of mental health 36 years ago. There is no desire to do anythig but medicate and those that wish to do other things are just as unregulated. Money and politics warps science.

Placebos will cure pain too. That doesn't prove that Tylenol doesn't work.

Placebos only help where the problem isnt rel.
We are overmedicated in general..meaning many people are treated when they dont need to be.

a majority of the problems arent real.
ADD
obesity
alcoholism
there is no magic cure for obesity. theres no drug thats going to prevent or reverse it.
the cure for obesity is the same as the cure for alcoholism.
just like a chiropractor cant cure lazy posture and the back pain it causes.
the majority of people want to believe that they are perfect and merely affected by demons that modern medicine can drive out with a magic pill.
fibromyalgea... everybody hurts. stop sleeping on your arm or sitting on your legs that way, etc...
or better yet, lets prescribe magic pills to prevent peoples bad habits.
this is the american way
and we push this idea through media.
