I love watching people who are so adamant about their opinions on subjects that no one has any freakin clue about. They are entertainingly idiotic, like an Outpost jester.
We have no effing clue whether aliens exist, let alone whether they'd be friend or foe. It's a friggin toss up.

What happened when the Incas and the Aztecs met the Spaniards?
They were more or less wiped out, their culture destroyed and they were subjugated their religion gone with their language and their written language.
And that was just a few hundred years of technological difference, add to that diseases.
So we're screwed, our best chance is just to make as little noise as possible and just tech like mad preserve the planet and if they come we simply nuke the shite out of everything, might as well destroy what they want and maybe some semblance of humanity will survive.

Any alien race millions of years ahead of us would have not only advanced in technology but be far more advanced spiritually. They would have no desire to annihilate us but would most likely defend themselves if they had to but would not go on an offensive. Not to say that a race could not be aggressive but imo if they have evolved to be aggressive they more than likely would have destroyed themselves thousands of years ago as we are most likely going to do if we keep up this way..
An advanced race would want to help us evolve but at the same time try not to interfere too much because part of our spiritual evolution is failure and making mistakes and learning from them. Without those mistakes we would be unable to evolve properly..
