It's not public broadband.
Private companies in partnership with the S. Korean government
equal public broadband because in the end the government will be the last say in all things related to it and the taxpayer will be paying the cost of it

Your welcome for all the food grown in those wide open spaces of red states. S. Korea appreciates it, also.
Except the states with the greatest agricultural output in America are blue states, which pay out in federal taxes

With the costs of Iraq war alone you guys couldve covered your whole country with optic fiber many times over.
You're only thinking in terms of per capita. Once you also figure logistical realities, the figure jumps dramatically. America as noted is a large spread out nation. Rolling out infrastructure here is not that cheap for a variety of reasons. Where nations are more physically condensed and have less physical obstacles, your costs are naturally lowered.
you also have to take into account the inefficiency and overhead of any thing run by government. Also those who still do not have internet despite this infrastructure product will have their wealth stolen to fund other people's connections that they themselves cannot enjoy.
I thought South Korean infrastructure is government driven and yours is purely based on initiatives
of private corporations, and not other way around

No, our [US] government very heavily interferes with numerous infrastructure systems. It's really rather ironic. Here is an interesting vantage point for you. Because of all the contrasts and comparisons talked about.

A big part of the reason why public infrastructure works in East Asia is because a much higher level of public trust, in multiculti cesspools like American cities everyone hates everyone else.
