I was born a Christan, more specially I was born a Catholic. I am just not a very good one. I don't think I believe in god.

Are you telling me you understand Jesus's thinking? Honestly?

Yes.

I've been know to give Him advice from time to time Also.

So he talks to you and you actually hear him? You just think you hear him. If you hear him then you probably have a chemical imbalance that needs to be addressed otherwise I am calling you a liar.

I have Him on Twitter. He tweets me everyday. So he doesn't actually "talk" to me as much as texts me. And I can text him back, too. Jesus/God is very tech savvy.

You can call me a lair all you want, you're a pagan, like your opinion matters

As a Christian, yes it's up to me to forgive a wrongdoer who trespasses against me. But as a citizen of a state, I also expect laws to be followed and met out. Religion and the state are two separate things, and my religious views do not take precedence over the law of the land. In my heart I can forgive the individual and have no malice towards them when they face their punishment. But the country would soon fall into chaos if we just let everyone run amok because as Christians we are supposed to forgive them of their crimes.

Can you please explain to me how you reconcile your stance with your religious belief? Where in the New Testament does Jesus support killing anyone? I'm not a Christian but it was my understanding Jesus was all about forgiveness and loving your enemy.

Capital Punishment isn't about someone killing another person, or taking their life. It's about the State killing someone... The State isn't a person, yet.

Most of the people I know who follow Norse traditions are pretty conservative.

That wasn't what he was all about. People often refer to the stoning of the adultress to claim Jesus was against execution, but that whole situation was just to trap Jesus and he outsmrted them.

If Jesus can send you to hell for eternity, why would he be against execution? Besides, the State/Government enforces the laws not forgives people who commit sins. His idea of forgivenss is on a personal level. The victim should forgive the one who sinned against them but there is no problem with the one who broke the law to pay the price for their unlawful deed.

Is this the part of the conversation where we point out the hypocrisy of supporting abortion while being opposed to the death penalty?
