Ron Paul is saying I want you to pay for the stuff I want the guys who already have much more stuff than you are going to get in the future.

Ron Paul doesn't want to give stuff to rich people.

If he did you'd think he'd have suggested it at least once during all his years in congress.

Or a lot of them will think that Santorum only lost because he wasn't socially conservative enough and double down on it.

That's like Groucho pretending to be mad that Obama isn't enough of a Socialist.

They may say it but they couldn't do it with a straight face.

Ron Paul wants to cut massive amounts of things in government which would affect millions of Americans. He wants to take away tons of their free stuff

Nobody ever gets elected that way.

I pointed out to them that if Paul is such an outsider, if he is so much the anti-government/free-marketeer, how is it that in 2011 Paul was one of only four Republicans to request earmarks? $138 million worth in fact. A whopping $398 million in 2010. Here is this year’s laundry list that Paul attached to various bills to bring government money (which one would think is not needed as there should be a free market for these things) back to his district to fund his pet projects. [Source: Paul’s Website]

·$8 million from federal taxpayers for Recreational Fishing Phase Piers.

·$2.5 million from taxpayers for “new benches, trash receptacles, bike racks, decorative street lighting.”

·$2.5 million from taxpayers to modify medians and sidewalks for an “Economically Disadvantaged” area.

·$2.5 million from federal taxpayers for a “Revelation Missionary Baptist Community Outreach Center.”

·$38 million in multiple requests for literacy programs to “encourage parents to read aloud to their children.”

·$18 million from federal taxpayers for a Commuter Rail Preliminary Engineering Phase (light rail).

·$4 million from federal taxpayers for the “Trails and Sidewalks Connectivity Initiative.”

·$11 million from federal taxpayers for a “Community-Based Job Training Program.”

·$2 million from federal taxpayers for a “Clean Energy” pilot project.

·$5 million from federal taxpayers in order to build a parking garage.

·$1.2 million for a “Low-income working families Day Care Program”

·$4.5 million from federal taxpayers for a new Youth Fair facility.

Yup, he sure hates giving money to rich people.

Did you read that list before you posted it?

I'm thinking no.

Yes. Even though the eventually goal of many of those earmarks is to help poor or middle class people, much of those funds are going to end up going to rich people to carry out the projects.

Why the talk about Ron Paul? I thought this thread was about frothy lube and fecal matter from anal sex.

Also, cutting earmarks doesn't cut the budget. The budget total remains the same but any leftover money that hasn't been earmarked gets to be spent by the president where noboy knows where it ends up at. A lot of people don't understand how this works.

Sig worthy. Keep telling that dirty little secret and they'll kick out out of the Democratic party.

Like in 2008? Huge loses made Republicans decide to gridlock government and double down on their stupid, but this time different, right?

They didn't double down. The Tea Party Republicans went in a totally different direction. It's a shame they didn't replace more of the neocons and religious right.

Totally different direction? Tea Partiers in Congress vote the straight Republican line more than non-Tea Party Republicans do.
