We are holding a special this weekend in honor of the Battle of Moscow! This battle started the 2nd of October 1941 and ended the 7th of January 1942. The German forces launched an offensive named Operation Typhoon to try and take over the Moscow region. After months of struggle and defense, the German offensive was pushed back and surrounded.
Here is a list of the many specials we will be having this weekend, from October 14 (starting at 4 AM PDT) to October 17th (ending at 4 AM PDT):
These tanks will be half price and earn double credits:
PzKpfw 38 nA
PzKpfw IV
VK 3001 (P)
PzKpfw VI Tiger (P)
T-28
KV
KV-3
IS
These premium tanks are also half off:
PzKpfw B2 740
Matilda
5x XP for the first victory each day (on each of your tanks)
Enlarging barracks will be half off (150 gold)
100% crew training is half off (100 gold per member)
Retraining crew to 100% primary skill will be half off (100 gold)
Training a crew bought with a tanks to 100% also half off (100 gold)
Be sure to log on this weekend to take advantage of these specials!
Be aware that if you win your first victory before 4 AM PDT on October 14th, you will not be eligible for the 5x XP till after 5 PM PDT time.
I can guess what tanks we will be seeing a lot of this weekend.

I played on a friends account today to try some of the better tanks ...I know a couple others here were also playing a KV atm...After playing his I can say with out hesitation the only reason to play the KV is to get to the KV-3 ...it is a much much better tank...working on getting mine now.

BTW: Are any of yo going to try to get into the "World of planes"(that might not be the right name)beta test ? They are in alpha testing atm.

The KV does get a bit easier matchups on average. But yeah, there is a reason why the KV-3 is going to be bumped up to Tier 7 in the future.

Not sure how #1 really works. Generally the artillery is protected by TD's in my experience... So good lucky catching them undefended.

That and even in the matchups that I am at a disadvantage I still feel like I can contribute on my KV. Which can't be said about every tank.

Just got my Panzer IV half an hour ago. Damn, that short 7.5 gun can't punch through anything. Need to get 2k xp fast I guess for a longer one with better penetration

The "medium" gun is decent, but imo. Panzer IV is best with GrossTurm & the long cannon, it's kinda like a fatty little poor pans Panther. 
Love to snipe with the PzIV, it was my bread&butter money earner in beta and I still play it in live WoT.

Yeah, the mid lengh cannon on the panzer IV sure isn't that great, but it's better than the short one. I plan to go with the better turret and the extra long barrel, but it'll be a while till I'm there. bread and butter money earner sounds nice though, there are a couple items I plan on buying
