I had a PzKpfw III (tier 4 I think), a German medium tank, and got put in with 7,8, and 9s. My KV, tier 5, gets put in with tier 9 and 10s.
I can see how new players would get frustrated at this and just quit. I stuck it out because I am playing with friends.

Lots of people complain about the matchmaking system. Fortunately it doesn't happen TOO often unless like Skonk said you're a light, in which case you're not really expected to do much more than scout.
