Does it have the same (or close) penetration as the 105? The 105 is the exact same gun I was using on the Hetzer. If the 75 is as good penetration wise I'd definitely love to use it, the reload time on the 105 is much too long. More often than not, unless I one-shot someone with that 105 I get spotted and killed before the damn thing reloads its second shot.

Ithink penetration on the long guns is much better, even at smaller caliber, but the damage isn't as high

Penetration is key IMO! Especially on those TDs, they are thrown into so many higher tier matches they must penetrate or they're just worthless arty fodder.


ETA: Now that you mention it the barrel on that 105 is exactly the same as it was on the Hetzer.

And the gun I advise is a tier 6 gun on a tier 5 tank just checked the numbers, at least as far as those go the long 7.5cm gun has twice the penetration power than the 10.5

Have any of you played or are you currently playing the M36 Slugger TD? I have an upgrade path from the Easy 8 to this TD, though I've been leveling up Kraut TDs obviously since I have the StuG. The thought of a TD with a turret makes me all wet. How big of a poosay is it? I read that it's vulnerable to HE but how is it against standard AP shells from equal tier tanks?

I played the slugger. I don't have any special memories of it like I do the stug.
Was just trying to grind thru the American TD line to get to the T95 before I realized that the T95 is literally the slowest thing in the game.
The slugger was decent for its tier. Solid front armor (even better than the next tier up) but especially weak flanks.
If you are already up to stug in the german TDs I would advise to just keep on pushing the American meds and leave the TDs to the Germans.

Well ya I plan to max out the kraut TDs as well as heavies and SPGs (krauts just have more tanks, period, and I haven't driven one yet that I didn't like in some way). I just figured I might go ahead and buy a slugger since I'll be keeping/playing/enjoying my Easy 8 long after I've leveled out of it and if I get 50k more xp with the easy 8 I can get the slugger without grinding up the US chain.

Do any of the kraut TDs have turrets? I haven't looked.

no. a turret gives you a higher silhouette and you are more easily spottet
