And all the court cases about the westboro idiots make a point of denouncing the speech as hateful and awful. Just like this judge did.
There's nothing wrong with a judge saying "this sort of speech is douchey even if it is protected."

How many of you would cheer if a serviceman punched out one of the Westboro Church idiots if they were protesting at one of his buddy's funeral?
At worst, a guy was punched, but, the evidence for that is pretty inconclusive. If this had been, say, a fight outside a bar, the police probably wouldn't even have arrested anyone.
Now, if the alleged attacker ad actually hurt the other guy, that would be a different matter, though, unless it was a serious injury, even then, the guy would probably have been let off with a warning.

From the article, it said that Judge Martin stated the First Amendment does not protect someone from being provoked, but dozens of other rulings regarding Westboro Baptist Church say it does.
Now we don't know how accurate any of that stuff is, but if that were true then he is opening up a big can of worms.
When in all reality, this "reporter" took only snippets and wrote the article in a way to sensationalize the Judge telling some 'doofus' what he did was in poor taste.

Well if he didn't attack the guy then it should have been thrown out.
The judge has every right to call whoever he wants a doofus (See: First Amendment).

Look I try to stay out of this religious garbage as much as possible but when our JUDICIARY fails us to this degree it's so far beyond wrong that it boggles my mind.
