No one is arguing their merits.

What is being argued is whether society should pay for them.

When you are calling people "sluts" you're at the very least implying a value judgment, which is absolutely merit-based.

This was silly. Will you apply this same standard to calling people rednecks so then society should buy their shotguns for them?

Holy horrible, did you and paul collaborate on that awful analogy or is that your own creation?

I've read through the first page of this and I'm still happy to say... I have no f'cking clue who he insulted or why, really.

I'm glad to have passed my IQ test for the month.

JFC, who listens to Rush anymore, anyway?

Who listens to Rush?

Every single member of congress who is a Republican that's who. They don't dare say a word against him, whatever he says, they go with it. When one of them screws up and accidentally says something negative or disagrees with him, they are on national TV within 24 begging to be forgiving and sucking his schlong as hard as possible.

The guy has a HUGE influence in the Republican party, at the very top as well as with the mouth breathing base.

You guys realize it wasn't the Obama Administration that said contraceptives need to be covered under insurance plans? That's been the case for a decade. What the Obama Administration said is that, since it is preventive, it needs to have no co-pay, as that is the standard for all preventive care. The reasoning being that folks need to be encouraged to do the preventive stuff, to help them stray healthy and to lower overall costs.

And, the public doesn't have to pay anything for it. For one thing, it is cheaper to offer contraception for free than not to offer it. For another, it is part of an individual's compensation package. They want it, they earned it, why shouldn't they have it?

Cheaper for them, cheaper for everyone else who has health insurance, fewer abortions, fewer unwanted babies, less missed time at work as...no baby, no family leave needed.

Win-win-win-win-win. Massive amounts of win.

Naturally, the right is against it.

I have to give some credit to George Will on this one:

Quote:

“[House Speaker John] Boehner comes out and says Rush’s language was inappropriate. Using the salad fork for your entrée, that’s inappropriate. Not this stuff,” Will said. “And it was depressing because what it indicates is that the Republican leaders are afraid of Rush Limbaugh. They want to bomb Iran, but they’re afraid of Rush Limbaugh.”

Rush apology posted:

“Talk about a double standard,” Limbaugh said. “Rappers can say anything they want about women. It’s called art. And they win awards.”

This guy is too much.

I hope this is the end of Rush's run on the radio.

This guy has an audience until he dies. And then, there are conservative stoonads who will listen to reruns. One hundred years from now he will be spoke of with the same absurd reverence accorded to the zombie Reagan. I think you guys should hire a taxidermist to preserve Rush's fathead when he dies. Obviously something about this guy inspires you.
