Tych nailed it - you don't understand what the word preventative means.

As to this, you are simply applying the 'preventative' wrong. The real point is, what are you preventing...

You don't understand what preventative means in regards to medicine.

Then the question should be if those, by no fault of their own, need medicine to prevent the outcome of their lot in life - should they be forced to pay $10 for their life saving medicine...

...while others are not forced to pay $10 for their protection from their daily choices in life.

It's pretty obvious you don't want to have a real conversation about this.

A large portion of our medical needs arise from our choices and are covered by medical insurance, and you don't have an issue with them...your argument is just stupid.

That isn't what preventative means you douche.

They aren't preventing anything in your case. You are already effed. This are just life support pills you are taking. Stop taking them and just effing die already - you insufferable prick.

Would that be with, or without, a co-pay?

This conversation, in case you missed it, was about a $10 co-pay! Or $9 if you go to Wallie World and pay less your normal co-pay for your pills!

Both ....some are some aren't depending on the policy.Prenatal care is often covered 100%,and that comes from the same choice that the need for birth control comes from.Emergency services are often covered 100% and very often due to someones poor choices.

It is far cheaper to give 500 women birth control than it is to pay for a single pregnancy, and it is a fact that women given access to free birth control give birth less than those who have birth control available for sale in the area.So what you've basically doing is trying to make everyone pay more to support your morality while screaming they are trying to make you pay for their lack of morality...in other words your lying and or stupid.

Dude only apologized after six sponsors pulled their money out of his pockets. He didn't mean it, he just needed his $$$ to buy more oxycontin and viagra.

I'm a simple man.

From what I know, my pills are designed to prevent:

stroke (highest risk factor is high blood pressure)

impaired vision (blood vessels in the eye can burst (this is what caused me to go in initially - my vision is slightly blurry still))

arteries (high blood pressure is connected with the hardening of arteries)

kidneys (high blood pressure can screw up the blood vessels here and cause problems)

heart attack/heart failure (high blood pressure is the #1 risk to congestive heart failure)

These pills are helping prevent these five things (at least)...they are not 100% successful (obviously). Birth control pills are designed to prevent the normal outcome of sex, something one elects to partake in - but is obviously not 100% successful.

They're preventing the side effects, but not actually preventing your blood pressure from hereditarily raising. That will happen, even with the pills. They just do exactly the same thing for you that they do for anyone else with high blood pressure, they bring your BP back down to more normal levels.

I'd have no objection to taking away co-pays on meds. Even though I don't use any meds myself, so would be subsidizing folks who need them. Unlike right wingers and libertarians, I believe in community and all of us working together and helping all of us.
