True enough. Maybe I am just getting better at seeing through the illusion.
Although certain choices they made definitely make the disconnect bigger in SWTOR. One of the more obvious ones is the way the WZ pvp is exactly the same at 50 as it is before 50, except for the gear treadmill. It gives a feeling of a lack of any real PVP progression. Ilum is a total trainwreck that is just downright embarassing. So there is nothing to look forward to on the PVP side of things about being at level cap.
Right now they are asking the limited multiplayer PVE element of the game to carry all the water at max level and I don't think that is going to work in the long term. Nobody bought TOR for the raid content. It may keep people occupied a month or two but it is not going to keep them satisfied in the long term.

Wow endgame was TERRIBLE at launch and for about the first year afterwords.
I have to agree here, and I've pretty much been a wow fanboi since the game launched.
In fact, for me level 60 *was* endgame as I hit level 60 in Silithus with my hunter, logged him off and unsubbed for like six months. I've resubbed and unsubbed back and forth at least a half dozen times over the years in the interim but I never did go back to that toon.

Did WOW have battle grounds at launch? I can't remember.
Honestly WOW has changed so much sense launch that it next to impossible to compare SWTOR to it directly. SWTOR has has a really good launch IMO and as long as they have money coming in they will be putting a good chunk back into it which is what really makes an MMO worth the long term time investment. That is why I am content just leveling up multiple characters.

Illum is definitely an embarrassment.
There are solo quests there that are broken 2 months after launch. And PVP is just straight jacked there as well.
If they don't attempt to address end game issues (particularly with PVP) by summer, I'm done.
For now, I'm enjoying the aesthetic and trying to keep some perspective on my expectations > their time in the market.
It's reasonable to wait 6 months with alt leveling to see where end game content is headed.

That link I posted referenced that they had a $300 million budget and seemed to allude to the fact that more was expected based on said budget.

There's 5\6 end Game Flashpoints
There are 9 or 10 IIRC you can do as HMs. But only 1 is really a level 50 flashpoint. If you are generous you can say there are 3 endgame flashpoints that players may have been unlikely to have done before they hit 50. Although 2 of those 3 are extremely easy if you are in a group of 50s because they're actually balanced for 47-49 instead.
I get what you are saying about comparing new games to old ones but it's sorta besides the point. In terms of PVE group content available at the level cap I don't disagree they are doing ok for a game three months old.
SWTOR is a game where the selling point is the leveling experience. As long as that is true they are going to have trouble keeping long-term subs. They need to find something to keep people interested in the game post level cap and right now what they have is probably not enough for people unless they are big into raiding.

P.S. Wow didn't have any BGs at launch IIRC. There is no doubt that if wow launched today the way it did in 2004 it would fail.
