That's probably true. I didn't mean the gameplay in particular so much as the game experience.

SWTOR is one of those games where the suck creeps up on you. I think they can probably sell a lot of retail boxes with a free trial. Where they are going to have trouble is keeping existing subscribers subscribed. The legacy system is a smart addition that can't come too soon because it is obviously a shameless way to try to get people to keep their subscriptions up through rerolling alts.

They called it an MMO and said it would have "stunning" open world PVP. In fact it is not really an MMO and has the worst PVP of any MMO I've ever played.

P.S. The imperial agent storyline is miles better than every other storyline in the game so you picked the wrong storyline to do first. Everything else is going to be crap in comparison. People told me the trooper storyline was great so I made my 2nd character a trooper but it isn't great at all compared to IA.

I still don't have any idea what it is, for the most part. If it's WoW in space or WoW in a Star Wars setting I think that could be good, actually. WoW did it right and i got many hours of enjoyment from that game. But from what I have read/heard...not universally, mind you, but for the most part...it simply isn't well-rounded enough for me to go out and buy at this point.

I'd certainly like to give it a test drive to see if I agree, though.

I had a dream. It was an incredible dream. When I awoke, I had a huge mess to clean up.

The genius of a test drive is to make sure you don't get a chance to really see what it's like. I'm sure the free trials will cap at level 20 or something like that. At that point the game is still refreshing and fun. You don't find out it sucks till you get into the 40s and realize there is nothing interesting to do once you finish the single player part of the game.

ive got a Trooper to 26, the story is good so far imo. ive got a Warrior to 21, the story is good so far imo. i also find the planet storyline quests to be excellent

both of those toons i am duoing with homies. i need to start a solo alt here soon

anyone that thought a Bioware RPG was going to have awesome PvP deserves to be disappointed

and i group all the time. i have done all flashpoints and all heroics on my way to 50. helped that i rolled a healer probably, but it is definitely an MMO

I did all flashpoints too. But flashpoints are just disembodied group levels. There is no sense of them actually existing in the world.

The whole game is set up to minimize meaningful interactions with other players except when you actively seek them out.

It is very much a single player game with some minor multiplayer functionality thrown in. Which is why it's such a shock when you hit level cap and realize there is no more worthwhile solo content and the game changes completely.

I did. My alt is now in the 40s and the game is getting bad again.

I've only got like 10 more days on the subscription so it's not a big deal. It was probably worth the cash. I am damn glad I didn't go full retard and buy the $150 version, though.
