I have rarely ever heard people say they are advocates for perfect competition or perfect markets. I have heard plenty of people say they are advocates for free markets.

Fist's post is so full of stupid it is pretty stupid to act like there is some great pwn in the use of the term free market.

Oh I agree. But a free market is a market without government restrictions. When people say they are advocates of free markets they actually mean they are advocates of more free markets because no one actually wants totally free markets because they don't work and everyone realizes it.

I think by and large they mean perfect markets. I think there is an assumption that free means perfect for the most part.

(sigh) I tried. Once again liberals prove they are more interested in attacking someone that debating the issues. When will I learn.

Yes, going by strict definition a free market would be free of all restrictions.

I am glad you agree with my fundamental ignorance and I am glad you also agree with me that government intervention in the market is required for a healthy economy.

Are you for free markets or perfect markets? Does government involvement in this scenario push the market towards a more perfect market or not?

Of course I agree. I just think we have very different ideals of what "government intervention" is necessary. Until liberals stop misusing words we will never agree. Heck, we cannot even understand each other most of the time. They raise something 5% and call it a cut. They take less and call it a subsidy. How can we debate when the liberals don't even understand the meaning of words?

You will never learn to stop attacking liberals when they debate your arguments and leave you no where else to turn. Of course, your arguments usually revolve around attacking liberals as well so at least you are consistent in your hypocrisy.

This thread is at least a little different in your championing of government intervention in the free market though, so gratz on that I guess. Why do you love big government so much?

Redefining cuts again I see. One week it has one definition for you, the next week a different definition...
