Seemed really short and didn't cover a ton. But it is the first episode and I have a feeling the episodes from here on out are going to get bigger and more intense.

Introduction of a lot of new characters. I thought it was OK, not great, but my wife who hasn't read the books was totally lost. She could barely remember how things fit together and the episode just jumped right in.

Yep.

I watched it twice.

I don't even like TV at all, but I love this show. That short guy....he is pretty damn awesome. Great actor and that chick with the baby dragons...yeah, she rocks as well.

I'm sensing another repeat of last season where it takes 5+ episodes to really get going.

It is really inevitable when they are as "true" to the original as they have been though. There are simply way, way too many characters and subplots in the books to translate effectively to the 1-hour TV episode medium.

A bolder editor would have cut out a lot of the subplots and side characters entirely and focused the narrative. I can see why they didn't though because it would make the fanbois /emorage like you wouldn't believe.

The TV show seems more of a Fanservice to those who has read the books than anything...but cant blame them, it's next to imposible to fit everything from 1000 pages long book to just ten episodes

Both Joffrey and Cersei are played perfectly, it's easy to grow to hate them.

Thought it was decent overall, but they jumped around a bit too much I think. Understandable given the amount of characters in th 2nd book, but for a 1st episode of the season and with that much info to cover, it would have been better served as a 2 hour premire.
