Ok, replacing the Custom folder under Lab/UI with the Custom folder from the add-on, wouldn't that be a No-No as well? I uninstalled the old UI I had with the new one, added the add-on as per the readme file, and it's still not up and running. I know these issues are on my end but I have yet to figure them out.

I can't tell you if that is the correct directory as it is different for each person's PC. It depends on their personal preference when they installed the game client and which windows version they are using.


This is why I say the custom folder from UI, along with any other custom UI for the game, must be installed in the "gameclient\ui" directory. You can see what this directory is by looking at the "Start In" directory for the shortcut you use to start the game client. It will be different for most people.


First you must remove/rename any custom folder in your gameclient\ui directory. Next install BobsUI in this location. After that copy the custom folder from the AddOns to "overlay" the new files onto the previous installed UI files.

Sounds like you are talking about the Floating HealtEndPwr bars as shown in this screenshot:

Use the Status Bar skin option to alter the type of skin used with the floating (and summary) normal status bar options:

Hey Shul ... just a quick question about the WoW UI concerning the Floating Health Bar. Is there something I am missing because I can't ANY kind of floating bar to come up what so ever. I would like to use the WoW floater but I just can't sem to get it to work. Any chance you can type out a quick walkthrough to get it to work ? BTW ... EXCELLENT job on the UI, I used Derida's for years but I think I am a convert now

The floating windows (and several other) are custom windows that by default are not turned on by the game client.


Those images to the left and right of your name in the Summary window are actually invisible buttons that you can use to toggle the floating target/health/end/power windows on/off. They buttons are the square maze patterns shown beside you name in this screenshot:

You can also use the buttons in the main menu to toggle the floating health/end/power/target windows on/off.

hey shul, i am not sure what i messed up. my hotbars seems to have lost the numbers on top (1-9 etc). i chose the tooltip style1. is there another option to put this back on? thanks.

hey, when i go to install the new addon for the ME, i open the option chooser and each time i attempt to change anything it states that "option chooser cannot write to..." message...


I merged the new custom ui folder into the folder version 1.94 v 4.03...


think of anything that im doing wrong?

Edit: nvm this isnt an AddOn problem, after each time I reinstall the UI, and close out the option chooser (after it starts automatically first), every other time i try to access it, it also gives the same "Unable to write to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\ui\custom\\OptionsChooser.ini"


also exiting out it from this point also gives the pop-up, i have to taskmanager and end the process


Edit: found the fix, probably was in an earlier post (im just lazy)...


have to run it as admin(due to vista), nvm
