That's happened with this UI for as long as I can remember and regardless of skin/options.

I never knew this was a problem nor had anyone reported it to me. I have never tried the combo you mentioned to get it to occur. The problem is with some ids numbers used in the train.xml window and took me all of 5 minutes (if that) to find the fix for.


Right click on the link below and then click on the "Save Target As" option to download the train.xml file from my website. Drag and drop the file into your gameclient/ui/custom directory to correct the issue.

Got a very frustrating issue.


I've been running BOBs UI for a while now and yesterday I decided to make a couple changes in the options chooser. Well I was having an issue with the summary window so I decided to be stupid and moved a bunch of files around and changed some folders in attempt to get it working. So now I cant even log in and when I choose the server and go the loading screen the window ends up like this:



I uninstalled BobsUI and it still does this so its something I did and I'm guessing I accidently moved or deleted something that I shouldn't. Anyone have some suggestions?

Having a few problems


- "Dual Chant" on my bard is still showing all of my self buffs. When I do a single chant option, all my buffs stack on top of each other. This is annoying not only on classes with speed chants, but for the classes that have dual options. Is this a bug? or working as intended?


- When selecting mini resist window (style #6) it produces a window like (style #5)... I had to use (style #4) to get the horizontal look.


- Floating Target window: anyway to require "Shift + Click" instead of moving it without a second key stroke, at times, when targeting between enemies and my healer helper, tends to grab a hold of my target window and throws it somewhere else on the screen. =\

Unfortunately, it seems as though you will have to reinstall the game client as you deleted/moved some file that is important to it.

Dual Chant

Dual chant feature is no longer working. Something changed on the Mythic end as it is no longer working in any of the custom UIs. I am removing the feature in the next release of the UI as it no longer will work.


Resist Style 06

Resist Style 06 is bugged. Thanks for finding and reporting the problem as I will fix it in the next release of the UI. For now you can apply style 04 of the Resist Window and make the following manual edits to the window to get the appearance of style 06.


Browse to your gameclient/ui/custom directory and open the custom9_window.xml file with notepad. Near the top of the file find the following text and note how the height property is set at 71.


<TitleWidth>210</TitleWidth>

<TitleHeight>71</TitleHeight>


<Width>210</Width>

<Height>71</Height>


<MinWidth>210</MinWidth>

<MinHeight>71</MinHeight>


Change the height propoerty from 71 to 59


<TitleWidth>210</TitleWidth>

<TitleHeight>59</TitleHeight>

<Height>59</Height>


<MinWidth>210</MinWidth>

<MinHeight>59</MinHeight>


Save the changes and exit notepad. Relog or rezone in game to see the changes.


Floating Target

The game UI in general does not allow us to reassign the keys used to activate things like that. The floating window I use ( Normal Style 01) does not have the issue you are describing. There is only a small area defined to allow you to move the target window which is centered around the move button that only appears when you hover over the top left corner of the window.

Let me know the style of floating window you are using and I may be able to suggest something.

Just an FYI, the new Camelot installer may have some issues with BobsUI. For instance:



You can see there are two different directories that I've highlighted. One goes LOTM/UI/CUSTOM (custom would be Bobs), the other is just the UI folder at the bottom there. For me, it doesn't work even with custom turned on in game after it's been installed. It has to be moved to the UI folder. Hope that helps anyone that has just re-installed DAoC.

Technophyte here.


I am running a gateway vista 64-bit laptop. I dled the ui and I kept getting this error:


"The error message is: "Unable to write to c:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Dark Age of Camelot\Lotm\UI\custom\\Optionschooser.ini"


So i looked through the thread and I couldn't find the directory for whatever reason but did find the uninstall so I uninstalled and created a custom folder under the x86 directory.


Reinstalled the UI and started to go through the options and it seemed to be installing everything. I went to close the options chooser and I got the message again:


"The error message is: "Unable to write to c:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Dark Age of Camelot\Lotm\UI\custom\\Optionschooser.ini".


The options chooser will not close unless I go into the taskmanager and shut it down from there. Interestingly enough it flashes the error again before actually closes down.


I went into the game just to see if they took my updates and no.


What am I doing wrong?


Edit: went back in and deleted shortcut. Found the chooser in the custom menu, and sent a new one to desktop. I ran the new shortcut as administrator and looks like it took my changes. I was able to close out the chooser without the error. Then I logged in, made sure I had the custom skin chosen under options, tried to login and the game crashed.

I figured it out. Seems there was a subcustom folder in the original ui custom folder. Copied and merged the two and its working fine.
