Get a clue.
While I absolutely 100% agree you should NOT have been banned for this,
I also think talking like that is disrespectful to others who play the game.

Out of respect for other players, public channels should be game related imo,
and not a place to spew worthless comments laced with sexual innuendos.

If you're looking for a place to publicly "express" your e-verbiage, join a guild
or save it for vent with like-minded people.

From the example the OP posted, profane language does not appear to be the problem. I doubt he got suspended for saying "ass". I think it was the entire context, his aggressive personal attacks and harassment. We saw only four lines and but I suspect this might have gone on longer than that to get someone to appeal.

Using the profanity filter wouldn't do much good against harassment.

Mythic can ban anyone at anytime for no reason at all.

They can send you an email and quote the "spirit of the game" clause and your done.

Spirit of the game clause is pretty much a "catch all" rule...

I'm guessing this was the philosophy behind your suspension...

Original poster is just looking for somebody to co-sign his BS.

Talk to people like that in the real world, and chances are one day you will end up getting slapped around for it. Just man up for once in your life, accept responsibility for your actions - get over it and move along.

Or, you can just continue to be a cry baby. Your choice kid.

What I said was not directed at anyone in particular, and was more in a playful manner than anything else. It was not vicious and wasn't profane.

I said "get it down assclown" because there was a player in the area named Azzclown and I thought that was funny. I was hoping he would help get the ram down so I made a rhyme out of it. So, saying assclown is no good, but having a character named azzclown is OK. Got it.

Then, "mids trying reach around, mids trying reach around !!!," because Mids were running around the keep to rear end the albs. Would this sentence be better if it were, "mids trying TO reach around?" I don't get why this is offensive. Can someone explain it?

"I bitch because peeps are stupid," was my response to someone asking me why I bitch so much. Did he get suspended too? No. If I were over-sensitive, would this be something that I could get offended by and then /appeal someone? If so, then it comes down to a judgement call by the gamemasters. But, do they take the time to go back and see who instigated a problem, or if someone with several accounts is just appealing people to get them suspended? Of course they don't. They can't even do anything for you when you have an in-game problem.

"dumb as dog(edited profanity, past tense of taking a dump), like you." This was my silly response to someone insulting me who didn't get appealed or suspended either. Again, I couldn't care less what someone says to me or anyone else in chat because I don't take it seriously. I'm not going to appeal this guy because I just don't care, but apparently you have to just appeal everyone for any reason now, because if you don't you just get suspended for no reason.

As someone mentioned, why have a /filter if curse words are going to get you suspended anyway?

Why do you have your /filter turned off if you are offended by bad words or if your kids play the game?

Why is Mythic catering to the lowest common demoniminator in-game?

Are we a nation of over-sensitive drones who cry foul everytime something doesn't go our way?

Do we want our teachers to tell us we tried real hard and that while 2 + 2 isn't 5, you didn't get it wrong, but instead, you need to focus harder?

I happened to be on Albion when you where online saying something along those lines you mentioned. Or perhaps it was another time because even tho the scenario was the same, the wordings where not.

Anyhow, what is wrong about not using the profanity-words? Is it uncool or do would you not fit in with your guild, mates, friends and what not? Is it worth a suspension? Well, if you learn from it then yes, because in all honesty you are being a 'assclown' in region-chat a lot of time.

So stop being such a TOS-ser, grow up and enjoy the game. Or not, your choice

I think the lesson to be learned here is to just /appeal everyone that says anything to you.

If you can't say things in chat that aren't directed at anyone, but people still get offended anyway, just appeal everyone for everything.

Appeal them on all of your accounts and have a group of friends do the same at the same time. Let Mythic sort it out, because that's what other people are doing already to you.

I have been playing the game for 8 years or more and the problems started with the foreign players who talk foreign languages in /reg and /advice, and curse you out and say things about you that you cannot understand and when you say something back at them, you are the one to get suspended.

Mythic, put a language translator in or allow me to ignore all foreign languages so I don't have to see anything that I can't understand with my name thrown in somewhere in that line of unreadable text.

The Euorpean players have a culture that is different than ours and different things offend them, so therefore they are the ones that need the culture sensitivity training, not me. They came to this server, I didn't go to theirs.

Mythic, why are you holding us responsible for offending other cultures just because you combine servers? It just makes no sense. Should I /appeal everyone who includes my name in a line of foreign text? The answer as far as Mythic is concerned is yes.
