Wrong. That's exactly what it means. It's obvious. Every person you ask in region lags the same way, and every person I run with in Ventrilo, across all realms, all experience server lag. You're hardware could be top notch and you will still get server lag. There is no sort of troubleshooting it with new hardware, new computers, new modems, ISP's. Doesn't matter.

It is Mythic's problem. There is no question about it.

So, your opinion on how it might not be Mythic's problem is useless BS.

actualy not everyone lags, a few of my friends still play and rarely ever see any lag, and a few months back i created a free trial account and was running around testing zoning and never had any lag problems

also some other friends of mine that play do lag...

but your claims of everyone experiencing the same lag is false..

the server software doesnt require that much hardware to run properly, so i dont think its a hardware problem at all... now mythics ISP connection might have been downgraded, or some other complication sense they did change the site where the servers are hosted awhile back, and they changed service providers ... so there could be a hickup there somewhere ...

but it could just as likely be 100 other things...

is there lag, yes, is it a problem that needs to be researched by mythic, yes... but it might not be a problem on mythics end....

Grab Bandwidth Monitor and TCPView and you can watch how much bandwidth Game.dll uses and it is very little. I was suprised it was so little.

and you can watch it spike when theres 5 people in the area or 50 people in the area...

i know it uses very little... but more people still uses more bandwidth ...

Here's something that can help your team pinpoint the problem: have them log in to DAOC and go RvR (especially in NF or Lab) for, say, 20 minutes. The horrible lag seems to always be there regardless of the time of day, but I'm sure it's worst in U.S. primetime (roughly 5pm ET - 2am ET) when the most players are online.

Lots of problems might get fixed if this were to happen. I recommend jumping on a dual wielder and fighting a shield specced toon as well.

It takes a lot of nails to build a crib, but just one screw to fill it.

LOL. I suppose the players who ONLY have lag with mythic's games are imagining it.

My computer is not top of the line anymore...but if the lag is due to the computer, or the router, or my internet service, then why does my entire group see the same lag ghosts? Group members in Canada, East Coast, West Coast, Mid-West....all seeing and dealing with the lag ghosting and seeing the same lag casting from the enemy. If it wasn't due to Mythic hardware, wouldn't it just be me?

Pretty much everyone in my guild has complained of it. And, there are IT professionals in my guild with top notch computers.

It would be nice if there was an answer to why the ghosting/lagging has been so bad since the creation of Ywain...but this is a company that can't even fix the Camelot Herald, so my expectations are not high.

Still a fun game..just not great customer service or technical support.

well, why dont you look up a lil bit back in this very thread.. were some people are saying they dont lag, and 1 guy posted traceroute logs that showed the lag appearing in the route BEFORE getting to mythic, somewhere along the lines at alter net ...

and the "lag" doesnt mean its mythics hardware cant handle the load.. the lag could be that MYTHICS internet connection has problems.. aka mythics ISP problem.. not a load problem with mythics hardware...

so as i said previously... no matter what the USER thinks, or tries to trouble shoot... its all just BS ...

and too all the people that say "my computer should be more then enough" .. sorry to say.. but there is such a thing as getting a degredation in preformance on a machine thats too powerful...

daoc was coded for an entirely difrent generation of processor and operating system then what most people are running today.. newer hardware and windows vista/7 actualy have decreased preformance running most older games/software especialy sense DAoC is coded original in DirectX 8, with updates to DirectX 9, neither of wich Vista or 7 have full support for.. they use software emulation to run DX9 and older, not pure hardware acceleration, so your actualy getting decreased preformance over a older computer running XP ...

Command and Conquer - Red Alert 2 runs flawlessly in windows XP but if i reboot into windows 7 the game bogs down and lags ... same hardware the only difrence is RA2 is programmed to run in an older version of DirectX that vista/7 doesnt do hardware acceleration for...

older games also run horribly on my laptop with Vista, even though newer games run great..

but thats all got nothing to do with Camelot, because the "lag" people are experiencing in camelot isnt the client software, but is the internet connection between client and server... wich has absolutely nothing at all to do with machine specs..

just figured i'd put it out there because so many people keep mentioning there hardware is more then enough to run the game.

The issue is with ALTER.NET...

Mythic had an issue with them before, where a router just bit the dust, and it took almost 2 days
for them to get it fixed.

I'd love Mythic to ask their ISP to jump around ALTER.NET and re-route their traffic to a
stable service..

I'm gonna call my ISP and see if I can get re-routed around ALTER.NET as well..

Just wish we could do it our self
