I don't think the issue is with Mythic. I play from the UK and lag very infrequently. 99.9% of the time, the game runs amazingly well. It sounds like an issue with the network infrastructure between you and Mythic TBH.

When I used to play on EU, the game was hosted by GOA in France. A router on the Open Transit French network was knackered, and all players outside France has horrendous lag for over a month. I'd suggest that those of you with issues produce a traceroute when you're having problems and send them in to Mythic.

Not sure you saw it, but Andy did chime in, and said, 'he'd look into it'..
Thats been over a month ago.. Still no word...

a Traceroute to mythic has been done hundreds of times, and that info, posted here, sent to Mythic many times, and
the answer is the same.. 'We are looking into it'.

The main issue happened with the switchover from whatever ISP they used to use, to Verizon.

LOL. DOne several years ago. Never got a response. I suppose all these dumb Americans have bad internet performance ONLY on Mythic's games.

Lag is pretty damn bad.

I dont remember it ever being this awful - even in the old days.

The lag is awful. I played back in the day on dial up and I remember leaving APK, running down the hill, get to the first MG and it's a zerg vs zerg. I get 30s of RED/RED/GREEN and then go linkdead. Then some douche will make a phone call and disconnect me from the internet completely.

Ohhh, the good ol' days.

And that still wasn't as bad as it is now!!

Yeap,

Back in 2002-2003 I was running SI fairly well on my 33.6K ISA modem. It was a foot long and weighed in at half a pound, but it would hang on to that old dial up connection like a pit bull... I RvR'd on it and ran ML raids as well. Laggy at times, but never to the point the game was unplayable.

It's terrible to now be running a 20M connection and a machine that can chew up DAoC with 3/4's of it's power to spare. And, it's where I'm lagging that sucks. TD's or any instance area seems to just lag like mad. Areas where a player should be experiencing the very minimum of lag. Last month a went so far as to get a new network card. It's got a separate processor built onboard it to take all the load from your system and I still lag. I upgraded my cable modem and got the ISP to check my hardware and lines twice in the last couple of months. I logged into two other mmo's that have servers thousands of miles away and do not experience lag like I do on DAoC these days and I'm less than a hundred miles from their servers...

I'm not one of those people that gets worked up over random lag when it happens, but this has become an almost constant situation of mind numbing lag in areas where there should not be any...

I just wish Andy or someone would pop back in and say something about the issue...

I hope you haven't been reading too much Big Foot Networks' propaganda (.. KillerNIC ...)

Always find it funny to see what a good marketing campaign can accomplish... some people really can sell air!

You guys who are lagging really bad should try Gaheris/Mordred/Pendragon. The lag is non-existent on those under populated servers... Just saying it looks like a hardware issue on Mythics end, I also lag on Ywain but not those other 3 servers...

back in the day... on Gaheris when there was 3k population... there was some people still using dialup modems, and they could never attend 100+ man raids, because there internet would drop due to the latency problems generated by so many people...

but anyone not on dialup, no problem...

so, just because people lag on heavily populated servers doesnt mean its a hardware issue if its a problem with there network card, router, cable/dsl modem, isp, random bad router somewhere on the internet the higher data transmission from heavier populated realms could still cause a problem without it being mythics servers.

it could be mythics problem, but it could also not be... but changing servers isnt a viable way to troubleshoot, the only people that can trouble shoot server load issues is mythic themselves, so player opinion on what could be causing it is kind of useless BS

Wrong. That's exactly what it means. It's obvious. Every person you ask in region lags the same way, and every person I run with in Ventrilo, across all realms, all experience server lag. You're hardware could be top notch and you will still get server lag. There is no sort of troubleshooting it with new hardware, new computers, new modems, ISP's. Doesn't matter.

It is Mythic's problem. There is no question about it.

So, your opinion on how it might not be Mythic's problem is useless BS.
