My Umteenth Rant Against Pets Comming through CK/Tower Doors |
popping out the doors WILL NOT work if u damage the pets in anyway shape or form.... a damage shield counts as damage... the door trick requires 2 doors if the oil lvl door or front door is the one in question... any one of the 4 other doors are the ones that work to peel pets
if you're defending the ck with a nuker.. don't defend from the oil lvl or roof if there are bds in the cy and/or none of the other albs are assisting and/or you're not grouping... defend from the slit windows on the middle lvl or bottom lvl and keep a door close.. do not use a damage shield... also the pet are not set on argo and left... the bd targets a defender and sends his pets to attack that person... defending from the slit windows reduces (greatly) the chance of a bd targeting you..
i do agree that they need to fix the fire n forget pet classes... but don't hold your breathe.. instead learn how to beat the pathing.. practice what i've posted.. it works

It seems like Mythic could change the code to read if the BD is in cy, the pets can go into cy(only). If BD is inside Tower pets can go anywhere.
That would go a long way. I know its not perfect.

So there was nobody in the CK that was able to disease, CC, root, etc these pets? You had 'rezzers' .. where was everybody else? Or, was it just a few 'solos' with their bots parked in there?
Did it ever occur to any of you to send somebody out there to kill that BD? Dead BD == No Pets. If his pets are running around inside the inner CK killing, then that BD can't depend on them to help him fast enough to save him if he is outside the walls and attacked.
There are plenty of tools in this game to deal with most pets - most people just want to whine about it instead of play their way into a solution.
First, I note that the defenders of the OP BD pets ... instantly descend to the level of name calling and insult.I will not descend to their level....and give any worth to their comments with a response.I will speak ......with my subscription, it's cancellation.i will speak with extended efforts on other forums to alert potential players to not try the game.
Who was defending the BD + Pets? Try whining less and work on your reading comprehension. I hate the idea of pet classes using advantages that are exploitive just as much as anybody else.
What I was asking is why where YOU cowering inside of the CK when it was obvious the BD was nearby? Why did none of you in the CK go out there and kill him? Why did the pets not get CC'd? There are a number of things you and your realm mates could have done to deal with the situation - but you did not. Why did none of you work together to butcher that BD? Why?
Oh wait .. you were too busy whining. It's the easy way out.

So...by your logic...car dealers should not sell you a "lemon"...but if they do...its the customers problem to fix the car and not the dealers...

If the car dealer is a video game character or is a buggy part of a video game that the developing company refuses to fix, then yes.
If real life...then no.
However, if the new car owner knew that said car was a lemon and still bought the car and expected it to work or expected the dealer to fix the car (even if the dealer had a history of NOT fixing cars that he/she sold) and told a bunch of random people in a bar about it...that would seem like whining over something that the new owner should have seen coming.
That said; yes I hate it too. BD pets running rampant in a closed CK is crap but we've all found ways to deal with it.
Do I think that Mythic should fix it? Yes.
Given the track record, do I think that they will? No.
Will I continue to play the game even though I had to find a fix for the problem myself? (the two-door solution) Yup.
If anyone else will or will not; that is their decision to make.

I am doing my small part to "fix" the game as well.I post on several game forums like this one telling people not to play and those who are playing.... to leave.In game..when people experience this exploit... about every other day..I suggest they quit..and even tell them of other games they should consider.(just doing my part to "fix" it).

And what other games do you tell them to consider? The sad fact is that even with all of DAoC's imperfections there just isn't anything out there comparable and I'm starting to doubt there ever will be. Yeah the pet thing is a PITA and BD's seemed to be the biggest problem but I hated the stunning Sims the most, I've been locked down in Molvik buy a chain stunning Sim that I can't even kill because even if I can hit it it gets healed for more damage than I can do to it. However, the last time I played I rarely had the pet thing happen to me, thought they fixed it.
