You can do every trade skill on one toon now,but don't worry about that now,its the least of ur worries,u can buy what u need for a template on ur 1st toon.

Its costs a lot of money to get ur trade skill up to where ur gonnaa make any money off it...

Level, get to 24,throw on sum armor, jewlery and a good staff, make sure ur dex, con, piety is capped, get sum resists, get da realm ability long wind and the one that allows magic critts(forget name) and go to bgs and kill for a bit and have fun!!

Make a face macro for ur runie,it takes to long to stop and turn around when kiting an enemy.Face will stop u instantly and face ur enemy.

Type /macro Face /face

Instance dungeons give you aurulite (aur), for Mid characters this would be the Kobold Undercity and surrounding areas. This aur can be traded to merchants for gear. This is excellent gear for characters, easily maxing out your stats at lower levels. It won't stand against better gear at top levels, but great for levelling up.

Better to use the BG quest... get massive amount of XP (like 1-2 bubbles) and enough aurulite to buy every item after doing the BG... heaps more than you get from doing the Catacombs instances (unless they changed the drop rate in there too).
The nice thing with the BG quest is... it's group credit.. so you form a group with everybody in the BG and you'll fly through there in no time (doesn't matter where in the BG you are, you will get credit from all the kills the other people are doing, while you run back and forth between the quest NPC and the mobs you have to kill).

It's actually faster if you have 2-3 ppl doing it, than trying to PL a toon with a scout/hunter/ranger on a 2nd account.

As someone who just came back after a multi-year absence, and can't access his old characters, I'm economically in the same boat. And I gotta say I have no idea where "u can buy what u need for a template on ur 1st toon" when you hit 50 with the cash you've made up to that point. Hell, most of the plat I've made thus far was because I spent a bit of gold leveling up tradeskills so I could salvage stuff. And while I feel I'm doing fine, I sure haven't been able to make enough to put together a better than "meh" temp.

Perhaps if you've been playing for the last few years you know ways of starting out with zilch, hitting 50 and being able to template yourself out. As cool as it is for you to take the time to respond to the OP, the advice just doesn't seem that realistic

On the other hand, I'm certainly willing to learn the way to make the kind of coin you're talking about.

You can farm everything you need (scales and glass basically). The only thing you actually have to pay for is crafted armor and spellcraft.

Yeah I know where you're coming from. It is a bit difficult, especially that this is my first ever time being a member. I only know so much about the game at this point. In two days I have gotten to level 13 and have around 20 gold from doing quests. I don't know where to find much of anything , but I do have a goal of getting to level 24 and going to BG.

Ty for being honest.

When I started(si wuz just released),there were alot of raids,df,tg,dragon, etc etc.I used my first monies to buy a house and sell stuff and between raid loot and money from iteams on sold on my house,I had enough to do halfway decent templates. Its prolly not feasble to that the route now, when u can farm glass and dragon scales, glass and ds's is prolly a good option.

I made sum good money salvaging through armor crafting, but that came later for me.Im not into tradeskills that much and mp armor is pretty much the same as 99 quality with the impue changes.I just buy armor and have someone spellcraft for me.

Anyways,if a new player needs a few plat to get started,pm me and I will be able to login tues nite sometime,I dont mind helpin out...

As a new player I'd suggest that you don't wait till 24 to enter the BGs. Do it now. The reason being that many old timers have designated, well equiped, die hard toons just for battlegrounds like Thid, Molvik etc and you will be going up against a lot of them with little rvr experience. If you familiarise yourself somewhat in the lower BGs you'll hit Thid with a little more experience beihind you.

Hello there,

I expect you are a bit further on than level 13 by now.

These are my bits of advice, and I hope they help.

1. Every 5 levels, from 5 to 25, you get a new staff and a new vest. These will be, without doubt, your best bits of equipment for awhile.

2. Your trainer in Jordheim (and I believe it is only Jordheim) will give you quests that are called Epic quests. These are also every five levels. They are tough to do at the level you get them (ie. the level 20 quest will be tough at 20)but if you wait a couple of levels, they get easier. The rewards are not too shabby, and best of all are free. If you stay with the game until level 45, which is when the final Epic quest is given, the reward is a pretty good full set of armour. The downside is, the level 45 Epic is in no way soloable.

3. If you go to the housing area (a channeller can port you there - select housing, then entrance), there are what are called Market Explorers. These allow you to search for items - armour/jewellery etc. Now, the prices will be eye-wateringly expensive for most things....but you can select the maximum price you want to pay for items. Setting a maximum price will filter out any items aboce that price in your search. You will surprised at how many items are quite cheap, ie 5 or 10 gold. If you find an item you like, make sure it can be used at your level. You do this by clicking on Info on the item.

I'm still at 13. I haven't got on to get further yet. I have started the epic quest (I'm on epic 2, I believe) and finally got a much needed new staff from the trainer. I'll check out the housing market a bit later. Thanks.
