Elric, don't feed us half-truths here. Post your temp and I bet you it's simple a melee oriented temp with 10% RP, probably even Baldes? Yes, these are used by all 3 Assassins these days, but 10% RP alone does not a Caster Shade make!

A tiny yet rather critical aspect of Slazjers table on maximizing casting speed, is of course the Casting Speed ToA bonus. Now how much of that is in your temp? This is a 3.0 SPD spell, and if you're running ~0% Casting speed then this spell is casting dog slow.

How is your DEX? If it's not at least 374 DEX (assuming 10% SPD) then you're again losing ~10% off the max casting speed you can attain. (Which a true Nuker NS is going to do at all cost.)


Lastly, you know exactly what he means about RA choices. Viper is a much better buy for boosting your poison damage then MoM & WP. However, you need MoM & WP to attain anywhere near the damage values posted by the OP.

Even with 400+ DEX my R4 fully Caster oriented NS was averaging 260-280 in RvR.

Yes, changed in the assassin loving patch to dex, aside from giving all shades a boost, it was probably meant as an extra sweetener for luri/elf shades with the introduction of celt nightshades.

Yeah, works out pretty well, with naturally high dex, and with items like astral pants, des neckie and mydraxis cloaks in your template, casting damage is not to be sneezed at.

Especially as we spend zero spec points for it

lol, I'll take that as a concession that you didn't actually have an argument, and just wanted to troll this thread with miss leading info. If you speak english at all, and have the reading comprehension of a 5th grader, then you know exactly what half-truths I was talking about.

You may have a NS, but it ain't a Nuker NS and it ain't nuking for 373 a pop, and certainly not at ~1.4 SPD. (Because you don't have 10% Casting SPD and probably not 374 DEX in your temp, and still retain decent melee!)

I'm calling you out saying that you're most likely talking about a Blades temp with 10% RP, which is a far cry from a Nuker NS. You don't have the SPD, nor the DEX to reach decent casting speeds, so the 10% RP is irrelevant. (Not to mention you probably lack at least 4-6% magic damage.)

Lastly, I also highly doubt you have MoM4+ and WP4+, as I'm willing to bet the NS in that SS in the OP had.


Now is that easy enough for you to understand, or do you need me to get "Hooked on Phonics!" for you?


~373 damage a pop (plus lucky crits now and then) from a 3.0 SPD spell against an un-/poorly- temped target, when casted by a RR10 Luri NS who is absolutely maxed out for casting DPS, is not exactly a solid foundation for a VN nerf crusade.
