The invention of a flux capacitor.

Or possibly a glowing blue Scott Bakula to leap back in time and put right what once went wrong?

Can see the episode now, Dr. Beckett leaps into the past to find himself standing in front of a big conference table in front of a projection screen with a power point presentation that says "Trials of Atlantis" by Mark Jacobs... this is when he looks into the mirror and see Mr. Jacobs staring back at him and says "Oh boy".

Haven't you seen, they invented a physical memristor a couple years ago? The impedance of the device is proportional to how much the magnetic flux changes with respect to the change in charge held by the device, and we call charge storing devices capacitors, and since charge is considered in relation to the magnetic flux, it can be considered a "flux capacitor" as good as any other name for it.

That doesn't sound like it's supposed to do what we need it to do. So I fully support plan B. Someone find Scott Bakula!!!

No company is going to spend money to advertise a game this old.

Stop worrying about the resurrection of DAoC and enjoy it for what it is.

I don't think it'd necessarily require a large restructuring of the game's PvE content, just changing how players are introduced to it.

A general idea off the top of my head: start players off in their realm's capitol city after the tutorial instead of outside of it. Put them near new NPCs that now act as "guides," telling them what areas in different parts of the game would be good for a character of their level. Make sure emphasis is put on how Aurulite dungeons are great for a new player to earn equipment and how task dungeons give great XP and money. Tell them which Aurulite dungeons would be good for their level and how to get there. Pre level 30, keep telling them how the Battlegrounds would be a great way to get used to PvP while earning Aurulite for equipment.

Not the greatest solution in the world, but it at least gives new payers some guidance to the better parts of the game without needing to actually modify any of the content itself.

This has got to me the most obvious (and easy) way to change things for new players I have seen in, well, ever!

To set talking points:

1. Give players the option to teleport to Camelot from the Tutorial zone teleporter in addition to the classic starting towns. Label it like Camelot (capitol city).
2. Change an existing NPC close to the port-in zone of the capitol city (or add a new one ONLY if must be) with a 'quest' which really just gives information like the very lowest ones in the tutorial zone do. These NPCs can be the 'guides' mentioned in the quote above.
3. Give the player a book from the 'guide' NPCs to /use in thier backpack that opens the help dialog box, but add a new dialog tree "Leveling suggestions". Include dialog describing TDs and AWs (Adventure Wings, Mythic's official name of aurulite dungeons). A short referrence to the Battleground quests should be there as well.
4. The 'book' should be droppable/destroyable/sellable (10 copper or so), but easily picked up again from the Guide NPC.
