I'd love to see all Hibs/Mids switch to Alb... we already lost a large percentage of players as it is, if everyone went to Alb it would show the relic hoppers how "fun" it is having nothing to do and no one to kill.

Normally I could care less about population imbalances - I just do my thing.

Tonight I decided to step out of NF and play around with some new temped toons in Thid and Molvik.

Log on my Hibs - couple of bots sitting in the PK - nobody else in sight aside from Albs.

Log on my Mids - couple of bots sitting in the PK - nobody else in sight aside from Albs.

Hmm..

Here's a suggestion, flag an account if they log onto an enemy realm's frontier in the same cluster. If the flag is set your account fails to gain relic bonuses until a set time for the flag to wear off - say 48 hours.

This would mean people would need to stay and support one realm exclusively to gain the benefits, without preventing them from playing with anyone, anywhere they like.

I don't know if increasing the realm timer to 1 hour would help, but its pretty clear that something has to be done. It may even make things worse when people decide they will only play Albion. Last night I went out on my lowbie keen eld and my ranger. Both had max resists 26% in template with druid resists for 50% heat resists but were getting bolted for 800 - 1000 a bolt. I am not playing my Albion characters when it gets like this simply because its contributing to the problem.

So,ive been back from a 6 year hiatus and have been playing for Hibernia in rvr for a week. In the Ywain cluster at least,Hibs have no real leaders nor is the PvP environment really inviting. There seem to be some cliquish tendencies in 8 man squads as well as and finding grps can be difficult.

In the chat people tend to be sarcastic, rude and downright unhelpful towards players looking to rvr. overall i would say the Rvr environment on the Ywain cluster is disordered and the few grps who play well dont seem to care for other hibs.

That being said Hib classes do need alot of love, there are many classes which in comparison to their Mid and Alb counterparts lack any sort of incentive to play.

So with a realm full of selfish realmates and lack luster classes off course you would go play in albion, when you compare it to Hibernia.

To be perfectly honest, there's been a recent burst amount of QQ in regards to realm balance recently on the General Forum. While yes I think certain Hibernian classes need love; you can never institute a realm timer that is super long. I know there have been many situations I log on my Hib, check out my CM maybe chat a little with someone then switch to my alb and do the same, then on my mid and do it once more. I don't think you can penalize someone for doing that.

So what if albs own all 6 relics? And there are a million RR1-4's hanging out running with the zerg? Just means you can get on a caster and make crazy RPs during one of their many keep takes... then port or run away when the door's coming down. I've honestly made +3-5 million RPs by hanging out defending keeps; it's too easy when you're dealing with people that don't know what they're doing (and let's face it, the people swapping to join the 200 man BG aren't gonna be your top players).

There's like 3-4 people currently posting daily on the General board that really like to QQ a ton; calm down, it's just a game... if you're not having fun, cancel your sub and find something you like?

they can't enforce a timer because they chose clustering accounts instead of character moves in the first place. People will get pissy that they can't play their character from one realm when it wasn't their fault they had to cluster.

Basically Mythic took the easy way out and clustered in the beginning.

Well they had to cluster didn't they?

Cydoc, Mythic doesn't want to deny people playing the game they pay for. So it puts them in a tricky spot.

I like the idea of no lockout to go to the under populated, and give maybe more bonuses.

I also love the idea of title or something, actually even RP benefits, to playing only one realm. That would rock.

The idea of positive motivation to combat realm hopping is so simple. It's cost effective and just plain makes sense. How can anyone argue against it.

So simple, even a caveman could do it.

Yet...some how, some way, it is beyond Mythic's ability or motivation to impliment something along these lines.

Do they care so little about their product (that their livelyhood depends on) to implement even the simplest and most obvious of solutions to major problems?

Or do they lack the technical skills to actually program it in?

Maybe the organizational skills to set the whole thing up and get it done?

Who knows but it sure is frustrating and mind boggling.

You just kind of have to wonder how does something like this not happen /shrug.

I understand all the reasons that they wouldn't want to prohibit people from playing more than one realm.

I would, however, like to see an incentive system for sticking w/ one realm that might help re-institute a greater degree of "realm loyalty".

Maybe someone along the lines of a certain percentage RP bonus granted to toons on an acct that hasn't been logged in to any other realm in a certain length of time. Kind of like rested experience with a twist.

Wouldn't dictate to players, but would reward and probably increase single realm focus.

There has to be a way to flag an account as realm specific. Avoiding the lockout timer is beyond easy and has never even been remotely addressed.

Agree, & doing it with incentives/scaling system would be a good starting point.
