So i suggested a long time ago, before wardens had shield, that they add celtic spear to their spec lines. Years later i still think it would have been better. Warden have been a paradigm of shield balance issues. I think now, in light of the recent shield changes this would be a good time to re-introduce the idea.
Opinions?

How would the other 2 realms be changed to balance it out though. Paladins with polearm?

1. paladins already have 2-hand?
2. how will hibernia be changed to balance out bondeancers, theurgs and all those fotm grp setups in genreal? you see, balancing things out was never ever on the map for this game. that is part of what makes it unique and fun.
i don't think wardens need cs but on the other hand i don't care if they get it. anyway, imho this will not happen.

lol, yeah just what we need to see Corken with CS.
Will never happen.
It would be worse then Valks are already, and they're the poster-child for an OPd hybrid, it's unlikely Mythic will create something even worse.

Based on their track record I wouldn't put money on that

I don't see it happening, but what I would like to see is more staffs with melee stats/procs added to the game. I'm a big fan of diversity when it comes to weapon selection, and (melee) staffs are just ridiculously underpowered compared to other weapons.
Considering the disadvantages of using a staff for melee, I think it would make more sense if staffs were among the *most* powerful weapons in the game (stat/proc-wise), instead of the *least* powerful as is currently the case.

I see what you're saying, but wardens with higher damage output would be stupid.

I loved the looks of my warden when i started using SoK back in ~2005 since a medieval-ish warden, in my mind, should be somekind of soldier/guard with a spear.
Plus the warden is undeniably an underpowered character in a 8-man dynamic, thus would it fit very well in this context, in my opinion.
Improving the damage from this class seems far from stupid to me as long as 8-man is concerned.
The problem lays in solo/small-man dynamics which i do not much about, but have no problem picturing how a warden may be hard to kill already. Plus, when you think about it, a warden w/ 2H would be much like a less powerful/resistant paladin with casted heals, pbt, and no end issues.
It appears quite hard to balance without paladins and soloers/small man feeling bad about it. If it were up to me i'd strip the warden's pbt, give it to chanters, give CS to wardens. But since traditionally wardens are mostly about passive abilities, especially pbt, i can't see that happening.
That and Mythic seemingly liking hibernia status as the underdog in terms of group dynamics.
