1. which realm did you start in?
Hibernia. Tristan Server.
2. what were your thoughts on the trivial things in you surroundings at the time?
DAoC was my first MMO and it blew me away that all these other characters were people from all over the place I could meet and adventure with.
3. did you ever switch to another ream? for good or temporary for trial?
I played a lot of Midgard on the Galahad Server (50 Thane and 50 Berserker). I never really tried Albion until I came back for the Classic servers. Too bad because all I saw of Alb was Aurulite instnaces.
4. what attracted you to the realm that you stayed in?
Friends and realm pride. Also because at the beginning of the game it was the complete underdog realm. Hibs were nothing but target drones on the Frontier.
5. did you screw the spec up on your first toon?
I guess I'll have to say "yes" because I specced my champ 50 Valor, 42 Shield and 39 Blades. The spec was right, but this was back when Shield was completely broken in RvR. I had it in my head that a warrior carried a shield so I specced shield and it wasn't until I went into RvR the first few times I realized that I was blocking more for the people I guarded than for myself. But then I discovered the wonders of Shield Slam and then I was a favorite of every Bard and Druid in the realm as I was Mr. Peel.
6. what was your first pvp experience like?
Back during the first days of the game when they called it "Stungard". I was running wood out to the relic keep in the Crauchon Gorge. My group consisted of one level 50 bard and 7 level 30 somethings (myself included) who volunteered to mule wood out to repair the doors. I saw three dark shapes coming from our left and one of them started waving it's arms around. Next thing I knew I was stunned over and over and over and the two other dark shapes killed the whole group 1,2,3. The healer kept us chain stunned while the two other mids killed us one at a time. They even had time to sit down and med end between each kill. It was during this the other Hibs in the group were typing to each other, "OMG they've got purple weapons! These guys are uber!" because only the highest level Mids had those purple hued weapons from Spindelhalla back then.
7. How did it feel when you got in your 1st 1vs1? . did you win?
I was in my 40s and I somehow got lost from my group in Emain. I saw an Alb caster who proceeded to DoT and kite me over the horizon. I had like zero resists and few hit points so I was an easy kill for that Cabby. However in my defense this is back in the times before people capped their stats (pre SI). Back then you camped warshades for days to get a warshade bracer because it had 3 six percent resists on it which was totally uber.
