Wasn't there supposed to be a big patch for the 10yr anni?
Patience! The plan is to make it easy for new players to compete in realm rvr! Don't you people read?!
What they are going to do is make perfect templates available to any new player to DAoC that is able to level to level 50.
So just, Forget the months of hard work you put into making your nearly perfect template you are so proud of! A
For those new players who dont really want to level, there will be tokens available from mob drops for /level. Kill a blue, get one token for one level. Kill a yellow, you get two tokens. But those are worth two levels each AND you must be solo for the kill! No cheating!
If a noobie manages to kill an orange con mob, it's an automatic level to 50. BUT... just to make it fair and not too easy.... wait on it... wait on it.... yup.... again you Must be solo!
Once the new players hits level 50 the devs have made it where the players click on their trainers to get a perfect templated suit of armor and weapons! Surprise!! 10th anniversery gift! But noobs you have not made it to NF quite yet.... lol!
AND..... then the hard part starts! For CL's it is back to the grind Must kill any blue con mob for one CL token, yellow con mob for two, and if the new player is skilled enough to kill any orange con mob SOLO, it's auto to CL10! But not to make it too difficult the new player Can be buffed! And perma-buffs will be available for an extra 19.95 per month Sweeettt!!! No more grinding those bots boys!
Realm points and Master Levels will work similarly for new players to ease them into the rigors and horrors of making it to RvR in general and NF specifically. But... the devs made me promise not to reveal this yet. Seems the developers are pretty new to the game and having trouble getting to level 50 with the new 10 year anniversary system. But boy, they are STOKED about hitting 50 themselves with the new Ten Year Anniversary System! They are just getting the hang of the game though so they may have to just implement a /level 50 for themselves. Oh well.
So dont worry, community, just like Obama, they are just taking a little vacation and resting up so they can straighten all this out.
Enjoy! Big Anniversary Events dont happen often you know!

you missed my point completely...
a new server wont fix it at all...
its the mindset of the PLAYERS that is the problem, not access to all 3 realms...
Yea, I was shortsided and really looking at a quick fix. The players have definitely changed a lot over the years. I used to play in Hibernia/Guinevere and I remember just going outside and /yelling LFG and within seconds I'd be grouped with someone..... regardless if I was a champion, a blademaster, or enchanter. I remember immediately after a raid, we'd head over to frontiers because we were going to get DF back (back when xp was much slower and getting a bub of xp was a lot).
People now are very selective now and if things don't go their way, it's quite easy to just switch realms. There is realm pride.. but it's much more few and far in between, I do believe that positive enforcement would help a lot. The timer would probably end up making a lot of people rage quit.
A new server, unless it offered something besides realm pride, would only split the population further. Whatever they do, they'll have to do on Ywain.

^this
Although the players have not changed at all imo (maybe they're 17 now instead of 11). Idiots have always been here, the only difference before was that there were enough mature people around to be able to ignore them.
They were considered the retards of the server, now that most of the good people have left for other games/rl, the retards have become the general population

I do understand ur point, the players could come together and do a lot of good things for the game, especially stick to one realm.
But when mythic allowed us to play on 3 realms,it allowed us to start playing with people from other
realms,we made friends and alot of us ended up makin toons ,put our heart, souls and alot of time into our toons.
Too ask or force us to play on one realm,On Ywain, when I have put so much time and work on those chars and if I have a friend that may need help on another realm,is unreasonable IMO.
It is,what it is,on ywain,that's my point...

no, no you absolutely do not understand at all.. sense your still harping on the one realm thing...
when the game was new, most people played multiple realms... but it was on seperate servers.. there was no realm loyalty, no server loyalty even then... but people banded together, and helped the realm they were playing on at the time...
then... RAs were added, and people started becoming selfish, and wanting optimized groups... in the first year of the game people would get groups even as a level 35 player in the frontier... people helped each other, and banded together reguardless of level, class, gear, RR... none of it mattered, the only thing that mattered was getting out there and defending the realm...
then over time people realized they got more RPs faster, PWNed harder in optimized 8mans and smaller... this is the killer of realm pride, years before server clustering, years before playing difrent realms on the same server... THE PLAYERS KILLED REALM PRIDE FOR THEMSELVES
and no matter if you launch a new server with restricted access, or restrict it on ywain.. it doesnt matter, the mindset will prevail and the elite will bash the newbs... there is nothing EA Bioware can do to fix the players mindset, theres no server ruleset, game mechanics or anything they can do to fix it...
as far as realm pride is concerned its the players that are broken not the game.
