If you're just basing that on YouTube videos, then so does daoc...and most 3rd person games tbh.
The original Guild Wars had a pretty good pvp following and used mechanics similar to daoc. Hopefully GW2 will build on this.
But pck is right, no other game will ever be able to emulate daoc, mainstream has moved past what daoc offers. Just like it did with UO a decade ago. Games now are aiming to appeal to the PvE and Arean/Battleground market, as that is what the 'average' gamer likes now...Grind away in pve, then play fast paced instant action that is like a FPS.

IMO people don't know how to make good MMO's these days, especially big MMO making companies.
What they know how to do is build up the hype and create graphical eye candy that you just can't deny. They still make their millions like this no problem.

Sorry, but EVE Online is a better MMO than DAoC in terms of complexity. But DAoC has an easier learning curve, and is fun to play, and has a decent RvR system.
Just wish it wasn't sci-fi.

Every MMO launched in 2002 or later isn't going to have the combat mechanics like DAOC has so it will be a fail for all DAOC fans.

Not at all. The mechanics of DAoC in terms of interruption will not be seen again in any game that attempts to be mainstream.

If GW2 is to succeed people CANNOT compare it to DAOC. Why would you want to play something exactly like DAOC? I'd rather play something more advanced. Im not looking for a daoc clone
