I'm going to have to agree with Thak here, even if WoW hadn't come out almost immediately after ToA, that expansion ruined every single aspect of the game's balance, especially before they threw caps on some of the bonuses. People casting so fast they could literally cast spells while running, mez durations in excess of 2 minutes, etc. It's like there was no testing done whatsoever to see the effects these things would have on pvp.

players did not cry about general gameplay and mechanics because they are unique, skillbased and great as they are. positional styles, interrupts, crowd control and lots of timing and tactics is what daoc is all about.
if actual gaming standards means boring global cooldowns, anytime/rotation spamming, next to no cc, next to no tactics and next to no brainz, then take your "standerds" with you if you find the game you are looking for. we don't want that crap and we still play daoc because daoc doesn't have all that horrible bullshit.
if you still want to stay at daoc (even though you don't seem to understand or like this game), there are possibilities for players like you. just stick kzar or any other zergleader, smash face -> keyboard on inc and you will be just fine.

Why come to a game then complain about the core mechanics that have been in place for 10 years? If it hasn't been changed already do you really think they will change it now while on a skeleton crew with only just enough resources to keep afloat?
As it stands now this game is only in existence because of its long-term fans that play the game because it is what it is. What do you think would happen if you fundamentally changed the game now? Do you honestly think it would survive?

There is no other MMO on the market like DAOC. I'm just saying that those fools in office should take advantage of that instead of letting it run on just fumes alone. Hate me all you want, but we all know one day this game will evolve to today's standerds or cease to exist.
