No! They can't get theurg pets, those pets are mean!
Thane needs BD pets, but 3 healers and one commander would make thane OP, instead thane needs 3 commanders and 1 healer. This will make them balanced.

Not criticizing your point on the rest, but how is that any bad? I mean it's on par with what you get on other hybrids such as champ or reaver, and higher than VWs. It looks pretty standard to me.

I too don't want to flame or something, but usually bad players blame the class, not their ability to control it or lack of knowledge how to play right.

On the other hand, so many players think they are good because they play on a ridiculous class/realm...


Fact is, in the only group fight in the video, which didn't seem too difficult, a bonedancer would have done everything the thane did and more. Maybe against some harder groups, that thane displayed madz skillz, but this fight would have been won with virtually anything waving hands for damage.

What achilles is trying to point out is maybe his HP is on "par" with our hybrids, but that's were it stops. Thanes are on the seer weapon table, no other Hybrid has this issue. And while this may seem 'OK' by some, the mere fact Thanes still need a little extra. Its been suggested many times on minor fixes. Put the class on Hybrid WS for starters. Last i checked, Thanes don't buff nor heal so being on seer level is retarded. Add a debuff to the single target Nuke. Maybe reduce the timing on the AOE debuff. Add a spell pierce buff to the class similar to heretics, increasing with points into SC line. Maybe even allow Acuity buff to affect them, or give a self only acuity buff. These are things meant to help the class, not OP them.

There is no "hybrid WS". Hybrids are on different tables (for instance VWs and champions don't have the same base WS table. Friars and wardens are hybrids too ^^' and different stats (friars get the short hand of the stick with their full-dex with no dex-starting race and no level dex but there's also spear valks with D/Q requirement). You also have to factor in procs (valks are a good example of how retarded procs can be), etc.


I'm not saying thanes don't need some love with their melee, but you can't ask for more weaponskill just because some other hybrids have more (and odds are it wouldn't solve the problems thanes are facing anyway).

@DakRT: Depends on what you consider a hybrid. Outside of healing hybrids or minstrels, valks might heal, but they still start as vikings and are on the hybrid table as well, and with lesser damage stats.
If you want to compare weapon tables, thanes are provided with better melee dps options than the champs and reavers i mentioned. Champs might be killers solo-wise but outside their BOV timer(15mn RUT), their raw melee damage isn't fantastic, and i doubt the 5% WS provided by their superior weapon table would make up for DD procs and true DA spell. Reavers are better with shield equipped but they aren't fitted with a 2hander spec.

The class is not at fault, the current game inclination towards pure casters is.

Well, I quit hibs because they suck:
1. You never get a grp on a wrong class, like VW.
2. Hib classes generally suck. If you look at the mirror class to a warden called Friar (both melee spec) you'll see that friar hits much harder, have more buffs, have TONS of heals and procs, better survivability via heals, self buffs and high evade. The only thing that warden has better is Celerity. I'm not counting PBT because I love heals more.
3. Hib casters are only good at solo and when the target have purge on a CD.
4. They are the lowest population realm which means they get ganked more.

Right now I'm on roaches realm and it feels good sometimes.
Playing savage or BD is really fun because OP classes are always fun.
I also have a thane, but he's only rr4. I never felt this class need any love, it's great as it is, not OP, not a hib (gimp).

And yeah, people will nerdrage after my thoughts about hibs, but I really feel pity to them.
Usually they are being ganked by us.
Also IMO there are much more Mids zerging in NF then Albs. Why people complain about some class when they just zerg down this and that?
