I voted no. If you want the best pet you should have to spec for it. An animist cannot be compared to an enchanter. It's like comparing a Theurgist to a Cabalist, or a SM to a BD.

Perhaps the real problem here is a lack of spells in the creeping line. However I think creeping as is is a viable spec. And with the new pet underway, even moreso now.

Voted yes great idea....other than an ae root there is 0 reason to go creeping. With the way the lines are and how crappy everything is compared to arb I absolutey say yes to baseline

I would like to be able to but I voted no. I'd rather see them make Creeping and Verdant more worth speccing in to access those pets. At least make one of them as good as Arb, most other casters have viable specline alternatives for RvR.

I tend to agree with this and I think making the pets baseline would limit furthur development in those lines.

right now I'm more concerned into having the Arb line competitive with other hib casters, even if I see your point. Suggestions have been made to mythic to develop other way of specializing, this is a whole other subject, but no animist will spec creeping because of those new pets, believe me that's a fact.

the question here is:
mythic wants to give animist some love, but what we are getting will be in conflict with the few tools we already have. see the problem? we don't need to loose the one snaring pet that is so useful for another moving pet that will not be as useful.
People will end playing exactly the same way, with the same static creeping shroom, and that love we are getting will result in being a (real nice) pve thing for verdant spec'ed animists.

furthermore atm, that new mobile pet from creeping is snaring like 1 in 10 casts, and snares only for 20%, half what the static pet does. So even if we do get that pet a baseline spell, it will probably won't be used by animists neither, cause it's nothing like the static one that snares 40% every cast.

this change is something Mythic is doing for us animists, as the animist mentor for one year now, that has been asking for mobile shrooms (in very specific ways) in each of my reports, I think it's my duty to inform that this change made for us is sort of disappointing.

I voted no. Just because a line may not be as appealing to others doesn't mean you should just make its perks baseline.

These new shrooms are an incentive to try out different spec combinations by making those lines viable. If you aren't losing current utility available I don't see a reasonable explanation as to why they should be made baseline. Even if the change only results in a real nice pve boost. It's a step to making those lines better.

I personally am looking forward to animist verdant bombs in keeps. Send a pet chasing after people with some pbaoe bombers chasing it will be hilarious.


I also want to say that this change is making animist rr5 so much nicer and I love it~
