Perfectly good point; inflation, even in a game, is bad, and this method of farming rewards up to 8 people in group, yet 5-7 of those people can be semi-AFK or bots. Why would you bother farming glass in any other way (other ToA mobs, keeps, RvR quests, Trifecta etc.) when you get far, far, far more from these quests with minimal effort?
As for the plat cap, it has a useful purpose: preventing certain rare items from being priced completely out of the means of casual players (i.e. so that you can't list items for 600+p). And yes, you can get around this with mansion deeds or item trades, but many people will only sell their items through consignment merchants and rare items still do get listed in housing (infernal sleeves, ml10 weapons, doppel bracers etc.) at less than 200p. Contrast this with the scenario where rare items could be listed for several times more and housing prices would adapt to the highest possible price. Imagine if dragon items still cost 6p and a Blade of Illusion cost 400p.

Kind of a pointless post.
At every time in this game there were tons of ways of making incredible plat; which people took advantage of. The price of top tier gear has always been insane, since I could remember (If anyone remembers how much a saga shield, dragonscale or dragontooth cost on Classic; was ridiculous there; I remember making template around these items we take for granted).
Not the same situation at all. Dragon items in their original form didn't add more currency to the game; making it so easy to generate large amounts of currency in the way that these quests do actually makes it more likely for there to be a gap (in price/accessibility) between top-tier and low-end gear. The high price of dragon gear was determined by its difficulty to farm and/or the fact it was almost always camped by a small pool of players.

The ToA quests now give far too much plat. I made 60 plat between 9:45PM and 12:45AM.
The prices of items are getting out of control and very likely people will have to start buying and selling mansion deeds again to break the 200p cap like back in 2006 when a mansion deed sold for 100p.
Why do I believe this is bad? Well, history lesson time...
When my country, Rhodesia, was lost on the negotiating table and ceased to exist, the new President for Life (it's Africa, this always happens) started working on getting rid of the capitalists (white people) and as most of us left, we took with us what made the country the envy of sub-saharan Africa: the bulk of the country's business and technological skills. The country, now named Zimbabwe, started its economic decline. The support the opposition parties had during the bush war from the Soviet Union and Chinese Communism was gone since the new government was so corrupt, the infrastructure failed from the beginning. The solution Mr. Robert Mugabe, the President for Life came up with was to print more money.
Print more money. It didn't matter that this money wasn't backed by anything. Good thing we left. Last I looked the natives had started printing "50 Trillion Zimbabwean Dollars" bills. People started a new urban art form where they'd paste currency on the walls of buildings in Harare (the ruins of Salisbury, where I was born) forming posters protesting the government.
Please Mythic: don't turn DAoC into Zimbabwe. Don't pull a Mugabe on us, I don't want to start carrying 50 trillion plat on my toon.
OKAY HERES MY PROBLEM.... your talking about atleast a 7 hour period of earning cash... if you were to kill AFRITS, do the scale quest... its almost completely equal...
this is not an issue at all... my question is do you think its right mid conflags cost 6 mansion deeds currently...?
when for a sb vest it used to be 300p each one conflags were 350 each... if you think thats right then go ahead and qq about inflation but in all REALITY... there wasn't buff tokens, potions wern't 5plat to get all the profanity you needed... your really drawing it out...
then not to mention having the best gear cost extremely high prices... just as much money that goes in comes out when you really peice it together... oh and lets not forget the market housing fee

Glass should have a low monetary value
there's a lot new plat into the game, enter infernal merchants etc
energies should be the way they are
not seeing the problem if they enter a new plat sink.

As has been mentioned this game is only still running because of it's pvp content, the pve side is just to get the best gear like ml10/SH and to be able to personally farm the rest.
Plat flooding in is a good thing, will mean the plat selling cockroaches will go elsewhere.

what some of you fail to understand is that if plat all of a sudden becomes super easy to acquire, no one is going to want to sell their ML10 gear or SH gear even at 214p since the time it took to acquire said ML10 or SH gear far outweighs what little value 214p means to the world. Same with crafting, why would a crafter want to sit in his/her house to craft a full merchant full of new armor to sell at a measly pittance of value -- you're going to start seeing crafted gear go for 100p+ a piece I guarantee if the inflation gets bad enough. So yes, now plat seems easier to farm, but now people will be less likely to want to part with the gear it actually took them a good amount of time and luck to acquire, good luck finishing those RvR suits. Time will become way more valuable than plat and the disparity will wreck the economy.

its no easier to aquire with this garbage quest than it was with the quests in the BG yet nobody complained about those because those take the cajones to actually go die in a rvr zone. These have been farmed by the carebears like yormama here with nothing better to do but PVE.
Want to fix this? Make these bloody toa zones PVP and not RVR either, real PVP and let us loot these babies corpses for plat when they die then we will see the market heal itself.

You see kids, this is why statistics is an important subject, and why it's important to know the conditions under which a study was conducted.
"I made 100 plat tonight, there fore plat is way to easy to get for the average player."
"100 plat in one night? How did you manage that?"
"Oh, I logged on 5 accounts at once."

This this a thousand times this. Some of the best PvP was in ToA zones. Blue server kids will never go for it though.
