For those who are still wondering, IllyanaR is Kirai from DH, the lowbie mentalist who was only level 2 while the rest of us were out taking keeps and fighting for our lives against the chain-stunning Mids.


Ya know, just because you heard second-hand information in DH guildchat doesn't necessarily make you an authority on what's been going on for the past 8 months. If you weren't around back then, and you haven't been on Lancelot for the last 5 months that everyone's been on Nimue, then it's best to just kindly STFU and take your inane ramblings elsewhere.


IllyanaR is representative of the majority of the posters on this trash board. They don't actually play the game, yet they come here posting filth to try to make names for themselves. What goes on here is nothing like what goes on in the game. Everyone gets along, HALO shows respect for everyone else, and everyone (save for a few jealous, ugly, and destructive individuals) shows respect for HALO. If HALO is so evil and tyrannical and awash with internal chaos and animosity as you idiots claim, would we have not crumbled long, long ago?


Just remember this: HALO is the alpha and the omega of DAoC. We were the first guild ever created, and we'll still be around when the last server closes its doors.

Sligdaddy.. I called you a noob b/c I didn't see that you now play as a ranger, thought you were an Albion on this server chiming in and I felt like trashing you b/c I thought you were the enemy. You are a ranger so /shrug you're cool now I guess =P.


Ahh.. the age old argument of DaoC PvP skills.


Don't get me started on Skillz, although this game definitely does require certain basic speed of reaction skills and those who are not good at those will stand out, the game doesn't require much of any real *skill* as I would call it.


What it does require however is the appropriate use of key strategies, and a knowledge of your class's role in a well balanced group and in battle (example, in an open field battle as a balanced Hibernian group: Bards mezz and play songs, Druids Buff and Heal, Casters hit em hard but don't use ranged aoe, etc.) Hardly any real *skills* involved, although there are *some*, and those that master them will have a slight edge. I'd more give the edge to whoever has the best *strategies* and knowledge of the game than whoever has the most *skills*. If two battling groups are equally good strategically then the slight edge of real *skill*, speed of reaction, and timing will determine the victor, however, I haven't seen this happen much b/c of the differences in different realms, I don't PvP in small groups enough, and because it's very rare for two groups who have an equal knowledge of the game and strategies will meet on the field of battle.


If they made an arena where groups of 8 could have battles on different terrains I think I would spend my entire game-time there and spend a LOT more time PvPing.

I think what would stop a lot of headache would be for everyone to stop taking the trash-boards seriously :\.
