In retrospect, I always enjoyed the times when there were fights in the Alb frontier (OF) better than in Hib. FIghts in the Mid frontier were always fun too but few and far between.

Alb fronter fights were a fun change back then. But in the end, it all went back to emain...

I ran with UC (always was awesome to group with UC, I still miss them) on my healer a lot before their end days and we had some phenominal courtyard fights in Alb land. Mid was making a point to try and mix things up and bring some action to the Alb frontiers, but we continued to just fight tough battles in Alb while Alb had enough to counter us there and take our stuff nearly uncontested. So we would have huge long battles then get back to Mid have to retake all our stuff which just got tiresome.

5-6 naturalists? are you serious? To be honest we were better off running a 3 naturalist group, a bard and two druids...maybe 2 bards and two druids at the most, but other realms had much better interupting power and more tools to shut down the other group (mids especially, there is not a better support combo in the game than healer+shammy, and yes, hibs had an advantage over albs up until the point sorcs got bolt range mez and actually started running theurgs in groups, which was rare back then), so it was better to run 4-5 tanks (maybe 4 tanks 1 caster) and just frontload the damage and kill the opponent before they had a chance to play the interupt game. Because 9 times out of 10, 5-6 naturalist group will lose to good mid support. 3 forms of cc on a single toon, and a support toon with ae disease and ae root and endless endurance...up close and personal, there's no beating that. The only group that has a better chance to win against that is a sorc/theurg setup...and only because they can do the interupting from an absurd distance (spam pets ftw!)

/shrug. For an Alb group to really beat a Mid or Hib group they have to be "better" players or at least more aware of everything to compete evenly.

I remember when the Albs had all three Power Relics and they had just introduced Corpse Summoners. We did a Green Knight/Hurbury raid. I believe UC claimed Hurb for us. We had a blast defending from the Albs.

It was one of my first days with SI Water too. <wipes away a tear>

Before they nerfed the summoners they actually allowed us Mids to hold our ground against the zillion Albs. I'm sure we were an anomoly and the summoners pre-nerf broke the balance of just about every other realm and server, but it actually kind of helped us just enough to really compete vs. the numbers. Those were some really fun keep fights. I still remember when I think it was Kamill plunked Boat at least 20 times during a keep fight. Poor boat.
