funny glancing through a few of the current threads with links to the past, got me thinking...


In no particular order, what were some of your favorite daoc memories?


1. Retal losing 40p on a villa.

2. The Midgard "Affair".

3. All the Ch00ch/EF videos (eh, I guess any good daoc vid on gawaine), and the fights that went along with 'em.

4. SoS (speed of sauce)/Rebirth/and any other trash talking fotm guild that came and went!

5. any RvR pre-ToA that didn't include greater than or equal to 3:1(or 1:3 depending on the aspect that you look at it from) odds.

6. Worm exploit (this one's a keeper).

7. Cradok

8. Cimmer

9. Just the old Gawaine in general, with all the characters, everyone knew everyone, and hate it or love it...we were a big community. For better or worse, at it's peak, Gawaine was a hell of a place to play.

Hmm, I'm a relative late comer to the server.


My favorite memories are as follows


1) Returning after a 2 months hiatus playing on MLF, and killing Choochx with my 44 smite spec. He made a post mocking me on the forums, and laughed how I was the only smite cleric left on the server. I have no description as to what I posted in that thread, but I comprised 80 percent of the posts in the thread and Choochx never mocked me again.


2) On a personal note, being with Oracle when we beat every single gank group on the server repeatedly. Beating Larfo repeatedly, and having them all be clean wins, was most definetely a crowning achievment.


3) My very first time rvring. It was 7 people, all of us Unity. We won mez, and I had absolutely no clue how fights worked. I stood in front of a blademaster and started spamming heals. Then they group purged and I died in 4 seconds. I distinctly remember trying to run behind a tree, thinking I could lose them. Wait, that blew. I'm not good at this.


4) Meeting Raven Guard in Emain Macha for the first time. My friends had told me stories about how they wore all black and killed Albs abunch.


5) With my skald I once fought a rr8 theurg and his rr9 buffbot. I killed the theurg 4 times over the course of the fight, but won after 6 minutes. Every single timer possible was used.


6) I once found a group of hibs resting, afk?, in the ruins. I set up a ground target at the middle of them, then ran to the tower. I went up to the very top and set up a trebuchet, and then lined it up. I fired once, hitting them all for 200 damage. But then they left =(


7) After Kalinior got me booted out of Unity for being a bad cleric (I was), I saw him die to a stealth zerg at AMG. After they were all dead, I gave Kali a 10 percent rez. GG No Re


8) Sieging Dun Nged for 5 hours the day NF was released. Probably more than that.


9) Asking Meddyck how to play a cleric.


10) Learning how to heal without using spread heal.


Of course, these are events. It would be impossible to truly convey how great some of the conversations I had with people on this server. Suffice to say I lived up to the two names I had.

-Killing (understatement ) Unholy Covenant in the gorge one night, and waking up to an 80+ post whine thread about albs and sos


-Unika inviting Althena to grp one night (had no clue who he was, assumed he'd be a waste of a

slot), and being utterly amazed @ his ability on sorc. I think I fell in love w/ him that day


-The 1st time I got chain-grappled, funny stuff


-Witnessing the sheer dysfunctionality of Obviously Newbs. Seriously, if that guild were a tv show, I'd have bought tickets to every episode
