Yeah, trip-speccing a berserker had nothing to do with your gimpness.

I always like the 1on1 fights with the winner having just a pixel of hp left.

The idea of a new frontier and mixing things up with good. The concept of getting people back into the battles faster was also good. But the execution was all jacked up and keep/tower fights ended up ruling all. A keep/tower fight every now and then was fine, but did they have to last for hours and hours and be one of the only spots you could ever encounter an enemy? They also reverse encouraged people to fight with the portals being cut off. What I would always see when I played Mid was great fights to start, then the portals closing and none of the Mids wanting to go through the trouble to come back out. On my Albs we won a bit more, and again it would be a few great fights to start and then once we got rolling, we were rolling for a long time.

Hmm, my top ten list.

1. My first successful dragon raid. Whoa.

2. The relic raid that Smeagol made me lead because he didn't want to. We ended up with all three power relics after taking all seven keeps first. Go Honor.

3. Cradok and some other Armsman on their hill vs. the Cloaked Assassins.

4. Bater and I trashing a group of seven hibs. He two-hit some NS with his spear.

5. Beating Lrod and some other NS (he was RR9 when I left, but I can't remember his name) 2 vs. 1.

6. Coming back from work and Bater had finished Valk to lvl 50 in Malmohus (okay, that was rough to not finish your first level 50.)

7. Jacelynn and Sarien hitting level 50 together.

8. Wasting some macro crafter in Dum Lamhofta.

9. X-teaming with Cyce in Emain and getting both realms to go without armor.

10. Picking Powpow out of Garek's zerg can killing him at all costs.

There's a lot I miss about the old days in DAoC.

Want Old School DAoC Pics?

My first trip into Askheim, where I saw my first Runemaster in action. I rolled a Runemaster the following day.

This is a shot of my character selection screen when Mid got it's first 50.

Remember this Halloween gift from Mythic?

2 copper to the first guy to name this location.

Asleiph using some baseline nukage on this Skogsfru... back before Suppression Spiritmasters had any damage spells.

Here's the turning point where the Kraken whooped my butt. It was the first time I'd seen him and been able to get off the horse in time to get a close look.

This is the first keep that Crimson Nightmare claimed. Forn helped us defend it for like 2 hours before we fell to 79 Albs. Good times.

Old School Vindsaul Faste. I actually took this sshot about 3s before getting ganked by Darklips

Some spell effects no longer in the game:

Suppression AE

Darkness AE

Runecarving AE

I do have some RvR shots, but most of the time I remember to take sshots is when I'm dead

killed... did it format the drive? remember it used to save all the old files as .tga, you need an alternate viewer to see them, I recommend irfanview (google it!)

1/ Choose Firbolg as Bard cos EMP was highlighted as important stat. ( and i actually added 10 EMP )

2/ Go to frontier and level and found a strange mob named *Kobold Invader*, mezzed me and intelligently /wave and /kiss me before hit me for 500+ (didn't know this is a RvR game when i bought DAoC lol).

3/ Solo run to Emain at lv24 solely because i lost my way, finally killed by a big scorpion ( it still kills me when i auto-run to Emain )

4/ Follow Garek and Darklips Zerg ftw.

5/ Stand between Garek, Banjo and random BT and listen to their /say argue. Relay to /as and have a lovely afternoon.

6/ Join Trisvan group and listen to Angela / Trisvan love affairs. Start to wonder why 8 can kill 24+.

7/ Lead and defend HK time RvR because LD start to siege non-stop. ( ZzZzzzZZ in office @_@ )

8/ Lead my very first relic raid, failed to bring it back to relic keep due to lagged - i took SS when running lol ( finally a random Bard took it home, and Meddy start to whine how unfair non-peak time relic raid is )

9/ Revenge on Albzerg and lead non-stop keep raid , farm rps in keep ftw.

10/ Hide in DF and gank all Alb inside, meet all Tornado members there.

11/ Form Tornado and told my former guildmates that "i will be back after lunar new year"

12/ Wake up at 4am, call all Tornado friends wake up and PvP at foreigner peak time. Start to taste what 8v8 8v16 8v24 is.

13/ RL Tornado meeting and talk about strategy, watch RvR video and enjoy a great night.

14/ Meet Ozey (Mid) and ran into Albion together, CSR pop and booted we all.

15/ Str relic + tank group = overpower.

16/ Hide in MK with Tornado after several fights at 7am for breakfast break, and got whined "Tornado only fight when RA up~"

17/ Animist become fotm.

18/ ToA - full ghost-form group and become unbeatable..

19/ LARFO inc, lost win lost win lost lost lost and started to whine Mid is overpowered

20/ Lot of new gank groups, learned a lot and enjoyed very much on all lost / win.

21/ NF - run 30minz for a single fight, enjoy trash talk in TS more than playing DAoC.

22/ Do solo RvR task and take sick leave because of the race with Spira for first R10 Bard in Gawaine - Spira offered 8 PSP for all Tornado for my account, we actually wanted to sell it.

23/ Quit cos of population dropped.

... and yes, most of my enjoyable memory is from Tornado and OF Was GREAT to meet all of them ( we still meet each other ~ )

" 6/ Join Trisvan group and listen to Angela / Trisvan love affairs. Start to wonder why 8 can kill 24+. "

Just in that context is so lol...you join an ang/tris group, hear the love affair, and then start to wonder why 8 can kill 24. I'm sure it would have been quite akward for tornado to try and cyber while rvr'ing to up their game.
