Mr New Player,


I am dumbfounded by your logic. If you enjoy playing AC raw because it is more challenging, you do not have to install Decal once it is released. Please, continue to play AC RAW. Suggesting to Decal devs to slow down or not release Decal makes no sense to me.

I use Decal for three things:


1. To buff. If rotely hitting the same damn buttons over and over again to buff is "using my wits", then I'm a genius as I'm quite good at buffing. I hate buffing manually. It takes away my potty and drink break.


2. To check items in corpses. Memorizing max damage values for every kind of weapon is a neat trick, but it's boring to look at every damn item. Being able to put your criteria for uberness into BS/2 and have it tell you when an item meets that criteria is great.


3. To salvage. Good lord. Is this the most mind-numbing thing possible in an MMORPG? If I was to salvage everything, I'd spend 5-10 minutes per buff just doing that.


I use Decal to compensate for the drawbacks AC has timesink-wise, not to "use my wits" less. It's too easy to say that going without any sort of automation of repetetive tasks is somehow worthier. It's like saying that sawing the wood to build a house by hand is a good thing rather than borderline insane.

Some of us also write plugins, so the initial tests will be 'Do our own plugins work'...If yes, we'll release an early beta where other plugin developers can try theirs and let us know of any other issues with Decal itself.

for now, we're just trying to get decal to even DRAW on the screen, let alone actually DO anything.


first step is to draw the bar, and then to draw the buttons. Once those work, we make sure some plugins with some views can load... make sure the controls all function properly and look correct. Once that is done, then we can start working on the functionality and make sure that all the internal functions appear to work correctly.
