/yawn/ now I'm bored with pulling the wings off this fly.

As one final suggestion (and I do mean final), I recommend that Twist take the back off his monitor, plug it in, put on a blindfold, and attempt to fix it with a screwdriver.

You say, "FOR THE VITAE!"
Ru tells you, "CHAZ!"
Simply Red tells you, "I am SO not recovering your body!"

Maglett, thanks for the tip, I know how to protect myself from power surges, I'm not entirely daft

Chazcon, nice to see you don't even pretend to have any argument anymore.

<< From what I've heard playing inside a CRT monitor can be fairly dangerous>>

As one that has worked with CRT's in the past, you are correct. I saw someone get knocked across the room due to not discharging the tube correctly before working on it.

This isn't a power surge, this is electricity being stored in the CRT, which is acting like a capacitor. Unless you know how to properly ground a CRT to work on it, then you shouldn't be working on them.
